Last week was powerful. đŸ€

Arise Counseling & Coaching partnered with Essentia Women’s Health & Aesthetics for the M2 event at Trilith Cinemas, bringing together over 100 women for a conversation that so many of us are craving.

A conversation about what’s happening in our bodies, our minds, our relationships—and within ourselves—as we move through perimenopause and menopause.

There were laughs, honest questions, shared experiences, and so many moments of, “Wait
you too?”

And maybe that was the most powerful part of the night: realizing we don’t have to navigate this season alone.

We deserve information.
We deserve support.
We deserve honest conversations about what’s really happening.
And we deserve to feel good in our lives again.

This season isn’t the end of who we’ve been.

It’s the beginning of who we’re becoming. đŸ€

So grateful to every woman who showed up and made this night what it was.

If you’re feeling disconnected, it’s an invitation to reconnect with the real you.

The next question is:

How do I know what’s actually me—and what’s just who I learned to be?

After years of being the capable one, the successful one, the caretaker, the achiever, the peacekeeper, or the one who holds everything together
those identities can start to feel like you.

But there’s a difference between your authentic self and the version of you that learned how to survive, succeed, belong, or feel loved.

One was formed from your true Essence.
The other from adaptation.

And both deserve compassion.
Coming back to yourself isn’t about blowing up your life or changing everything.

It starts with getting curious about what feels true now.

Ask yourself:
What am I doing because I genuinely want to—and what am I doing because I believe I should?

Where am I saying yes when something inside of me is saying no?

What am I tolerating because it’s familiar, even though it no longer feels aligned?

What brings me alive? What gives me energy? What feels deeply like me?

And maybe the biggest question:
If I didn’t have to prove anything, earn anything, or keep anyone happy
how would I choose to live?

This is where alignment begins.

Not with having your future figured out, but with learning to hear yourself again—and trusting yourself enough to honor what you hear.

One boundary.
One honest conversation.
One desire you stop minimizing.
One thing you allow yourself to want.
One choice that feels more like you.

These small acts of self-devotion rebuild your relationship with yourself.

Little by little, you stop creating your life around who you needed to be

and start creating it from who you truly are and who you’re becoming.

You don’t just look successful.
You feel alive, free, and deeply aligned inside the life you’re creating. 💛

Feeling disconnected is an invitation to connect with the real you.

Feeling lost is a calling to come home. 💛

There are seasons when everything can look right from the outside—and still feel strangely empty on the inside.

You’ve checked the boxes.
Done what was expected.
Strived to achieve.
Been responsible.
Successful.
Strong.
Needed.

And yet
 something feels like it’s missing.

You feel restless. Disconnected. Maybe the things that once fulfilled you don’t anymore. There’s a quiet sense that something more is calling you.

It can be easy to think, What’s wrong with me? Why am I not happier?

But what if that feeling isn’t a problem to fix?

It’s valuable information for your heart đŸ„°

Sometimes we travel so far away from ourselves becoming who we learned we needed to be to feel safe, successful, loved or accepted that we lose connection with who we actually are.

We become the achiever. The caretaker. The strong one. The one who overfunctions, overgives, performs, produces and holds everything together.

And those versions of us may have served us beautifully.
Until they don’t.

Eventually, something deeper begins asking for more—not necessarily more achievement, but more truth. Freedom. Joy. Aliveness. Alignment. More of YOU.

That’s why feeling lost and disconnected is an invitation.
An invitation to understand who you’ve had to become
and reconnect with who you really are underneath all of it.

So if you’re in that in-between place, don’t rush to fix it or force yourself to have all the answers.

Get curious.

What feels alive to me now?

What no longer feels true?

What am I craving more of?

Who am I when I’m not trying to prove, please, perform or protect?

And then begin making small choices from that version of you.

This is the work I love helping people do—understanding who they learned to become to feel safe, successful or loved, releasing the patterns that no longer fit, and reconnecting deeply with their true essence and authentic, aligned self.

Because there comes a point when simply having a life that looks successful isn’t enough.

You want a life that feels deeply, unmistakably, authentically yours. 🌟💕

đŸŽŸ Life lessons from the tennis court

My coach said something today that just immediately softened my being:

“Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.”

In tennis, power doesn’t come from gripping tighter or trying harder. It comes from loosening your grip, relaxing, trusting the movement, and letting it flow.

Life works a lot like that.

We get so used to gripping our way through life—overfunctioning, overachieving, controlling, pushing. Old survival patterns that taught us more effort means more safety, success, and control.

But there’s another way.

Loosen the grip. Release what you don’t need to carry. Surrender what you can’t control. Trust yourself. Trust God. Let life meet you.

Less forcing. More flow.
Surrender is where the real power lives. đŸŽŸâœš

This morning, I was doing some of my own capacity work around worthiness and receiving.

And I was reminded of something powerful:

Worthiness isn’t something we earn.
It’s something we remember.

We can say, “I’m worthy of more. I’m ready for abundance. I want greater success, support, freedom, ease
”

But underneath those desires, there can still be a quiet voice asking:

But am I really allowed to have it?
Who am I to receive that much?
What if it all goes away?
Shouldn’t I have to work harder for it?

And sometimes that voice shows up as overworking.
Downplaying what we want.
Struggling to ask for help.
Feeling uncomfortable receiving.
Or even becoming anxious when something really good happens.

That isn’t necessarily the truth of who we are.

Sometimes it’s an old story our nervous system learned because staying small, striving, controlling, or expecting disappointment once felt safer than receiving.

So this morning, I wasn’t just repeating affirmations.

I was doing EFT tapping while speaking new truths over myself:

It’s safe for me to receive.
I don’t have to prove my worth.
I am worthy of support and ease.
I can take big action AND allow abundance to meet me.
I am willing to receive.

Because I don’t only want my mind to believe these things.

I want my body to learn what they feel like.

I want greater abundance, visibility, success, love, support, freedom, and opportunity to feel safe enough to receive, hold, enjoy, and sustain.

That is capacity work.

We aren’t trying to become worthy enough for the life we desire.

We’re releasing the old stories that made us forget we already are.

You don’t have to earn your worthiness.
You get to remember it—and teach every part of you that it’s safe to live from it. đŸ€

Are You Leading From Your Survival Self—or Your Authentic Self?

One question has changed the way I lead, coach, and live:
“Am I making this decision from survival...or from freedom?”

Your survival self is the version of you that learned who you needed to be to receive love, acceptance, belonging, or approval.

Maybe you became...
The achiever.
The caretaker.
The people-pleaser.
The strong one.
The perfectionist.
The fixer.
The one who never needs anything.

These aren’t bad qualities. Many helped you become successful.
But they become a problem when they’re no longer choices—they’re survival patterns.

Then your decisions sound like:
“I have to.”
“I should.”
“I can’t disappoint them.”
“What will they think?”
“I need to prove myself.”

Your authentic self is different.
It’s the truest expression of your unique essence—who you really are, what you value, what you desire, what you need, and how you genuinely feel.

It’s not driven by who you think you should be.
It’s grounded in who you are.

And decisions begin to sound different:
“This is aligned.”
“This is what I actually want.”
“This is wise for me.”
“I can say no.”
“I don’t have to prove my worth.”

The goal isn’t to get rid of your survival self.
It’s to understand how it protected you—and stop allowing it to run your life.

This is so much of the work I do.
We identify the roles, beliefs, and behaviors you developed to survive, uncover what your nervous system is still protecting you from, heal the wounds underneath those patterns, regulate your nervous system, and reconnect you with your own voice, values, needs, and desires.

You stop asking:
“Who do I need to be to be loved, successful, accepted, or enough?”

And start asking:
“Who am I—and what would it look like to live and lead from THAT person?”

That’s freedom.
Not becoming someone new.
Becoming more fully who you were underneath the survival patterns all along.

Before your next decision, pause and ask:
Is my survival self making this decision...or is my authentic self leading?

There’s a side of entrepreneurship most people never see.

It can be exciting, exhilarating, deeply meaningful—and incredibly hard and lonely.

A business owner friend said to me recently:
“Sometimes entrepreneurship feels like eating glass.”
Yep. 😂

Today in my business owner mastermind, I asked everyone to share one word describing how they were coming in:
Weary. Lonely. Distracted.

Another business owner reached out after discovering a huge mistake that now requires hard decisions, restructuring, and a major pivot.

Another recently sold the business he poured so much of himself into—and now he’s asking:
What’s next? And who am I without it?

This is entrepreneurship.

One day you’re celebrating a huge win. The next you’re wondering what the heck you’re doing.

You carry the vision, the responsibility, the risk, and the decisions no one else wants to make. You make mistakes. You pivot. You get back up. And you keep building.

Entrepreneurs really are a different breed.

And what a privilege it is to walk alongside them.

I understand the struggle because I know it too—the pressure, uncertainty, long days, lonely decisions, and yes, eating glass. 😂

But I also know the beauty.
The victories. The freedom. The growth. The impact. The incredible experience of watching something you once dreamed about become real.

Entrepreneurship will stretch you, humble you, grow you, and sometimes completely remake you.

It’s a beautiful, messy process.
And even knowing all that comes with it, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If you’re in the weary, lonely, what in the world am I doing? season right now—

I see you. Keep going. What you’re building matters—and so does who you’re becoming while you build it. đŸ’›đŸ‘ŠđŸ»

Finish this sentence:
“I’ll finally feel at peace when...”

More money?
A relationship?
The business grows?
The kids are older?
Someone approves of you?

Be careful.

Sometimes the thing we believe will finally give us peace...
is the very thing we’ve given our power away to.

Real peace isn’t found when life finally changes.

It’s found when you do. 💛
