Meet Julian Gately.

Julian started training with us at just 5 years old, and watching him grow into the wonderful young man he is becoming today has been such a joy.

Throughout the years he has trained with us, we have seen incredible dedication, character, and a genuine desire to improve. Julian is always striving to develop his skills while maintaining a positive attitude, and his hard work is paying off both inside and outside the dojang.

Beyond his martial arts training, Julian has a wonderful creative spirit. He has a deep passion for music and the arts. He plays piano, sings, is learning other instruments, and also enjoys swimming. Julian trains with us three times a week, while continuing to learn new songs and instruments and pursuing the activities that allow him to express himself creatively.

Whether he's training in the dojang, making music, or learning something new, Julian approaches everything with passion, dedication, and a positive attitude.

That is what becoming a Martial Artist is all about.

FINDING STRENGTH WHEN YOU DON’T FEEL STRONG

Everyone has difficult days. But sometimes feeling down can become something more—leaving a child or teenager feeling tired, isolated, unmotivated, or like they simply don't want to participate in the things they once enjoyed.

For parents, it isn't always easy to know what to do.

Martial arts can provide something incredibly valuable: structure, routine, positive interaction, and achievable goals.

Every class gives students an opportunity to accomplish something. Learning a new technique. Improving a skill. Earning a stripe or belt. Helping another student. Even simply showing up on a difficult day can be a victory.

Martial arts also teaches an important lesson: you don't have to be perfect to make progress.

Some days are harder than others. That's true on the mat—and it's true in life.
