Trainer Tip Tuesday with Coach Eden: Build your dead hang 💪

Dead hangs are one of the first steps toward building a pull-up, but they’re also great for improving grip strength, forearm strength, and core control.

A few key things to remember:

- Get your knuckles over the bar, not just your fingertips.

- Wrap your grip fully so you can hold longer with less discomfort.

- Engage your core like you’re holding a plank to reduce swinging.

- Keep breathing the entire time.

- Step down when your grip starts to go.

Master the dead hang first, then build from there.

💪 Weekend Warrior Workout 💪

No studio? No problem.

Coach Alex has you covered with a full-body workout using just one dumbbell and your body weight. Complete 3 rounds of each exercise, 10 reps each (10 per side when applicable), and challenge yourself to keep moving this weekend.

Consistency doesn’t stop when the weekend starts—it’s built one workout at a time.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes! 👇

Trainer Tip Tuesday with Coach Eden 💪

Ever get to the end of a set and wonder if it’s time to move up in weight?

That’s where drop sets come in.

A drop set is a simple way to challenge your muscles, build strength, and figure out when you’re ready for the next level. Start with a heavier weight, perform as many quality reps as you can, then switch to a lighter weight and finish the set.

Not only does this help you push past plateaus, but it also gives you valuable feedback about your current strength level. If you’re consistently finishing all your reps with the heavier weight, it might be time to level up.

One important reminder: if you’re doing a single-arm exercise, make sure both sides complete the same number of reps at each weight to keep things balanced.

Milestone Monday 🎉

This week at Alloy Personal Training East Pasadena, we’re celebrating four members who completed their very first workout!

👏👏👏👏

We’re excited to have you as part of the Alloy family and can wait to see what you accomplish in the weeks and months ahead. Welcome aboard 💪

Trainer Tip Tuesday 💡
Small adjustments make a big difference.

When setting up the wheel, tighter is better than looser. Your toes shouldn’t be sliding all the way through the strap. Instead, let the red band do the work by securing the wheel high on your shoe where it won’t slip during the exercise.

A few extra seconds on setup can make your workout safer, more comfortable, and a whole lot more effective.
