2 years ago I decided to expand my horizons into kickboxing and MMA with the Fusion MMA & Jiu Jitsu team 🦈🦈 under Aaron “Ace” Reis and his son christianreis1 who runs their academy, Fusion mma and jiu jitsu sunset on Sunset Blvd in St George 🥊🥋 My reason was to improve my ability to teach well rounded Self Defense and Counter Bullying strategies, tactics and physical skills.

I have trained at a lot of gyms in my life and it is extremely rare to find the culture they have built. Expert coaching, high level of experience, along with a welcoming vibe and training partners who take care of each other ❤️ Everyone I trained with worked to help me improve and pushed me when I thought I was done. I’m so grateful to these People 🙏🙏❤️

This experience has not only pulled me deeper into the sport of MMA, but everyone I meet who lives in the area, I tell them to head over to Fusion and talk to any of the Reis family 🙌🔥🔥 They’re awesome! Because of these guys I am motivated to continue to fight in Amateur MMA and my next goal is to earn a shot at the lightweight title, after a 3 month hiatus to give time back to my family, and work on growing my business and building. So excited for the future!

I was once struggling. Depressed, suffering from childhood/combat PTSD, habitually angry, hurting myself and others, I lost my pride, my purpose and my community. I was at the bottom of a bottle day in and day out. Especially when I had to watch my 19 month old daughter fight through cancer.

But I stayed on the journey to inner peace and happiness through Martial Arts, self care and development to be where I am today with the joy I feel in serving my community each day. I’ve also found people that are on the journey with me and my friendship with them helped inspire me. And now, I want to share my journey with others who are searching. ❤️🙌

America’s Veteran Overwatch 🇺🇸 🇺🇸🛡️ is a By the People, For the People 🇺🇸🥋 program, run by Veteran Dwight Hargett that seeks to reduce Veteran su***de through our training program. AVO welcomes who want to find their 2.0, to join the journey with us. This is how we aim to reduce Veteran su***de in our part of the world 🌎

We are starting with a fun, safe, 45 minute workout EVERY MONTH, followed by 15 minutes of peer to peer coaching. So we can connect Veterans with the tools and resources we found helpful to us in our journey back to Pride and Purpose. Training is free for all Vets. See you on the mats! 🥋🥊💪

VICTORY by TKO halfway through the 2nd round! 🙌 Although it did get a little hairy after an overhand right knocked me down(was not hurt) and I got my back taken. Props to Lorne Kirkland for bringing the fight 🔥🔥 I am grateful to have been able to overcome the challenge with lessons learned 📝

I want to share my gratitude to God, and with my wife Vianely Alvarez , my By the People, For the People team and Fusion MMA & Jiu Jitsu coaches and training partners for getting me there ready. No man is an island and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to train with such great fighters and People ❤️🇺🇸

I want to thank Crown Fighting Championships also for putting together such an amazing event and giving me the chance to share our mission to reduce Veteran su***de and depression through our America’s Veteran Overwatch program. AVO is where we share our best practices for physical and mental health with fun, effective training classes and peer to peer coaching.

If you are struggling with or and you are a Veteran, there is a place for you at our round table and lots of love to help you regain the pride you lost. Ive been blessed to have had angels and mentors show me the way and I can say I’m overwhelmed with gratitude that I have found purpose and joy in serving my community 🇺🇸❤️🥷

August 29th I’ll be stepping into the cage to show my art of discipline in Amateur at 155lbs ⚖️ I am so grateful to have been set on the path to WAR and PEACE and for the opportunity to train with great People like my teammates at By the People, For the People 🙌🇺🇸🥷🥷🥷🥷
