DAY 3 — WE STILL KEEP GRINDIN’

Day 3 of the CBUA/Mid-American Advanced Umpire Clinic was another full day focused on learning, applying and improving.

📋 Instructor evaluations on the field
💬 Post-game feedback and one-on-one instruction

Our umpires had the opportunity to take what they learned in the classroom and apply it in live game situations, followed by immediate feedback from an experienced instructional staff.

That combination of instruction, application, evaluation and feedback is what advanced umpire development is all about.

DAY 2 — KEEP GRINDIN’

Day 2 of the CBUA/Mid-American Advanced Umpire Clinic was all about putting instruction into action.

From classroom sessions with NCAA Secretary/Rules Editor Randy Bruns and CBUA Director of Video Training Tim Cordill, to live games throughout the day, our umpires were challenged to learn, apply and improve.

Rain? We dealt with it.
Live games? We got after it.
Instant feedback? Absolutely.
Post-game evaluations and one-on-one instruction? That’s where the real work happens.

This is what advanced umpire development looks like — quality instruction, real game situations, immediate feedback and a commitment to getting better every day.

The weather didn’t stop us. We kept grinding.

The CBUA/Mid-American Advanced Umpire Clinic is officially underway — and what a way to start.

A SOLD-OUT clinic filled with advanced umpires who aren’t satisfied with where they are. They’re here because they want to improve their craft, sharpen their mechanics, learn from experienced instructors, and take their game to the next level.

Tonight was all about instruction, preparation, and putting in the work.

For nearly three decades, CBUA/Mid-American Advanced Umpire Clinic has been committed to developing umpires and providing an environment where serious officials can learn, compete, and grow.

We’re focused on setting the standard.

The work continues tomorrow.

That’s a wrap on the 2026 Mid-American Umpire Clinic!

Four days of instruction, hard work, live games, and plenty of opportunities to learn and improve.

Our final day was another reminder of what makes this clinic special — our instructors were on the field, working with umpires between innings and providing real-time evaluations and feedback to help each umpire get better.

A big thank you to all of the umpires who attended, our outstanding instructors, and everyone who helped make this year’s clinic a success.

We appreciate your commitment to the craft and look forward to seeing where your work takes you.

WE’RE UNDERWAY! ⚾️

The Mid-American Umpire Clinic is officially underway tonight at Creekside Baseball Complex in Kansas City!

We’re kicking things off with classroom instruction, and instructor Tim Cordill is leading umpires through one of the most important situations on the field — taking plays at the plate.

From positioning and timing to reading the play and making the call, it’s all about understanding the situation, being in the right place, and putting yourself in position to get it right.

And this is just the beginning. Over the next several days, our instructors will be working with umpires both in the classroom and on the field to help them learn, improve and elevate their game.

The CBUA/Mid-American Umpire Clinics is proud to congratulate Chris Coskey on being named the new Coordinator of Baseball Umpires for the Big 12 Conference!

Chris has built an incredible career in collegiate baseball, and this opportunity is a tremendous recognition of his experience, knowledge, professionalism, and commitment to the umpiring profession.

His accomplishments include:
• 5 College World Series
• 10 NCAA Super Regionals
• 20 NCAA Regionals
• 2 NCAA Division II National Championships
• Supervisor of Umpires for the MIAA and Sooner Athletic Conferences
• Former Big 12 Conference umpire
• Several Big 12 Conference Tournaments
• Director of Umpire Clinics and Training for the CBUA

We are especially proud that Chris continues to give back to the umpiring profession as the Director of Umpire Clinics and Training for the CBUA.
