Last night we had a Fight Night. Everyone had a great time. There were several new karate-ka, they were understandably nervous, but there were smiles all around afterwards. We did both point sparring and full contact.

Tonight in class we honored Memorial Day. We did it in a way that was started by the CrossFit Community and has spread around the country since 2005. It is a workout called The Murph, in honor of Navy Seal Lieutenant Michael Murphy who gave his life in battle to save his men. The workout consists of a 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats and another 1-mile run while wearing a weighted vest. Of course we adjusted it to fit the capabilities of our class. Here is a link to a short video explaining The Murph and Lt. Murphy. 🇺🇸. https://youtu.be/WWssoNhEkB4

We are so proud of all five of our Brown Belts that tested for their 1st Degree Black Belt ranking this past weekend at the annual Summer Camp. They have all been working hard for this moment and they left it all out on the floor. Were mistakes made? Yes. But everyone, if they are honest with you and themselves, is going to make mistakes. No one is perfect. It is what you do with those mistakes that define you. Learn from them and do better. And I have no doubt that is what they will do. Make Effort And You Will Achieve. OSU!
