They show up almost every trip. A dorsal fin breaks the surface, then another, and for a few minutes the boat goes quiet except for people pointing.

The Daytime Dolphin Sightseeing Tour runs right through St. Andrews Bay, where wild dolphins feed and travel close to shore. No cage, no tank, just open water and a chance to see them on their own terms.

The easel goes up right as the sun starts thinking about setting, and that is on purpose. Sierra Sons walks the group through the evening's painting step by step, no experience required, no pressure either, just a canvas, a glass of something local from Panama City Beach Winery, and the ocean doing most of the talking in the background. Some people come with a date. Some come solo and leave with a table full of new friends. Either way, the painting turns out better than expected, and the view does too.

The dunes go quiet right before it happens. A bride walks out past the boardwalk, dress catching the last gold light of the evening, and for a second there is nothing to do but breathe it in. Down on the sand, a small circle waits, an arch dressed in white flowers, the Gulf providing the only backdrop anyone asked for. Vows get read from a book someone has clearly carried before, hands find each other, and the tide keeps moving in the background like it has somewhere to be. It does not. Nobody there does either. For a few minutes, the whole park holds still for two people and everyone who came to watch them start something.

Late summer strips the sediment out of the water at the jetties, and visibility right now is about as good as it gets all year. Rock formations covered in barnacles and soft coral. Small schools of wildlife moving through the shallows. A calm, protected pocket of water that sets the stage for the Dolphin Eco-Snorkel Tour, where guests spend two and a half hours exploring these waters alongside wild dolphins with an experienced guide.

There's a version of Labor Day weekend that starts in a parking lot, arms full, chairs digging into shoulders, umbrella poles catching in the sand with every step. And there's the version where none of that happens. Where the walk from the car to the water is just a walk, because the chairs are already planted, the umbrella is already up, and the only thing left to do is sit down. By day, St. Andrews Bay is calm, sunny, and postcard-perfect. Sail it at sunset on October 30th or 31st, and something shifts.

The Haunted Sunset Cruise sets sail from 5 to 6:30 PM with ghostly tales and spooky facts about Panama City and Panama City Beach that might make guests look at the water a little differently.

Adults 21+ sip w**e or b**r. Kids get water or soda. Everyone gets a bag of assorted Halloween treats, hauntingly delicious and just the right amount of unsettling.

Today is National Wildlife Day, and this park does not take that lightly.

Alligators in the marsh. Deer along Alligator Trail. Ospreys over the jetty. Ghost crabs racing the tide line at dusk. Every one of them was here long before the parking lot.

St. Andrews State Park has earned a spot on Tripadvisor's 2026 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best Beaches list, ranking #8 in the United States. Panama City Beach also made the national list at #11. The recognition lands during the park's 75th anniversary year, marking decades of pristine shoreline where the Gulf meets St. Andrews Bay. A mile and a half of untouched beach, dune trails, and calm waters, exactly as it's always been.

You could spend a week here and not run out of things to do. Mornings start on Shell Island, sand still cool underfoot before the ferry crowds arrive. Afternoons disappear into the water, snorkeling the jetties, paddling the bay, chasing dolphins from a pontoon. Evenings belong to the sunset, whether that's from a catamaran deck or a glamping tent porch facing the water. And somewhere in between, there's always something moving, an osprey overhead, a deer along the trail, wildlife that was here long before any of this was a destination. One park. This many ways to spend a day in it.
