The Country Club at Mirasol is a large, gated community located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The community, developed by Taylor Woodrow, contains just under 1,200 homes and home sites on two championship golf courses along with natural preserves and lakes.

Our member-run Mirasol Foundation kicked off its Teen Community Service Program with an event at our Golf Learning Center, and it was a blast! The afternoon featured a presentation from Foundation representatives, Mirasol members Ryder and Tyler sharing the incredible story behind WeCare4Cancer.com, which they created, and other inspiring testimonials about the impact of community service. Then it was time for a little friendly competition! Our teen volunteers took part in a simulated hole-in-one contest, with four winners taking home certificates and golf balls for landing closest to the pin.

Restaurant Manager Zach Recckio's final Wine Down Wednesday of the summer featured "The Great Chardonnay Debate"! Our resident wine connoisseurs compared chardonnays from renowned wine regions around the globe while discovering how climate, terroir, and winemaking techniques shape each glass. Delicious light bites complemented every sip!

Members, in case you missed our "Save the Date" season calendar in your email, our first big wine event of the season — Fall Food & Wine Night — will take place on November 12! Reservations for this popular event open on October 12, and we hope to see you there.

Even our feathered residents understand the importance of a hydration break! Our Visual Media Specialist, Mike Rivera, spotted this young Cooper’s Hawk stopping for a drink on a hot day recently. Since birds don’t cool down quite the same way we do, fresh water can be especially important when temperatures rise.

Our final cooking demonstration of the summer brought the heat!

Director of Culinary Operations Michael Crain kicked things off with a look at the different grills we use at Mirasol before Executive Banquet Chef Egypt Davis took over for the cooking portion. Chef Egypt, who finished third on Season 23 of Hell’s Kitchen, shared some of his favorite grilling techniques, including a dry rub, white barbecue sauce, and black cherry whiskey barbecue sauce.

Members sampled plenty along the way — including Chef Egypt’s famous cornbread — and headed home with recipe cards and a little inspiration for their own grills. It was a great way to close out our summer cooking demonstrations, and we thank all who joined us!

The past few weeks have been busy as we prepare for the fall season, and we’re excited to announce that the major resurfacing project on all fifteen tennis courts is now complete!

This restoration included laser grading, more than 100 tons of new clay, and fresh court lines, giving all of our courts a smooth, even playing surface. The courts are ready, and we look forward to seeing our members enjoying them!

We’re pleased to share another video update on the restoration of the 18th holes on our Sunrise and Sunset golf courses!

Director of Golf Course Maintenance Ben Hyduk takes us through the latest progress, including sprigging the greens and putting surfaces, lining bunkers, installing drainage, and more.

Be sure to watch until the end for a look at the installation of our dramatic new water feature! Once complete, it will serve as a stunning focal point visible from both courses, the Grand Clubhouse, and Overlook Bar & Grill, our new casual dining destination opening this fall.

It took a sharp eye to spot this well-camouflaged visitor, and we thank member Amy Wexler for her latest contribution!

This Cuban treefrog was photographed tucked against the trunk of a palm, where its mottled coloring provided an impressive disguise. Cuban treefrogs can vary greatly in appearance, ranging from cream and green to brown and gray, and their exceptionally large toe pads help them cling to trees and other surfaces. Although fascinating to see, Cuban treefrogs are an invasive species in Florida and are known to compete with — and even prey upon — some of our native frogs.
