You are literally a child of God!
Who else needs this reminder?! I know I did!

I’m 0 for 2 today… I don’t even want to go into detail but just know I’m trying to stay alive right now! I’m sure some of you can relate?!

This is gonna embarrass Mr. Tarbellfitness. But idc. I am wildly biased and think he’s the kittens meow meow… idk what that means… but I am blessed.
I have been blessed to have a man that:
1. Takes care of himself & puts in the work!
2. Puts God first in his day and life.
3. Works hard for his family to provide in a world that is never satisfied.
4. He tries to ‘Be There’ Wherever he’s needed- he gives 100%.

Shoutout to his mama, because she’s 💯 the reason why he’s so wonderful.

Mrs TarbellFitness 😘

Nothing frustrates me more than realizing I’ve been caught up again in the “hate myself club.”

Because that’s exactly what the devil wants.

Now, before you come at me with a “but…” — listen.

God tells us to take care of our bodies, our holy temples. He did not tell us to worship our bodies.

In fact, He tells us to deny ourselves.

Friends, we are so fickle. So easily distracted. So weak.

I don’t believe there is anything wrong with taking care of yourself. I do believe there is something dangerous about allowing it to become your identity.

When food becomes the enemy—or something we crave more than Jesus.

When we look in the mirror and see the cellulite, the wrinkles, the stretch marks… instead of seeing someone created by God.

When we convince ourselves we need anything more than the breath of God and the bread of Jesus.

When we’ve consumed so much information that our heads are spinning—calories, macros, supplements, workouts, hormones, body fat, “what I should and shouldn’t eat”—instead of simply finding peace in the Word of the Lord.

Have you read the Old Testament?

It has been the focus of my very unfocused mind this year, and one thing I keep noticing over and over again is how God’s people beg and plead with Him to forgive them.

They fall deeply and passionately in love with Him.

And then, somehow, they wake up the next day thinking, “We’re good.”

But they ain’t. 😂

Small things turn their heads.
Small things turn their hearts.
They forget.

And we are no different.

Fitness, building muscle, working out, eating well, taking care of your body—none of those things are bad.

But they should never become your identity.

They are part of who you are.

They are not whom you belong to.

And they certainly aren’t where you’re going to end up.

This life is so very fragile. So very short.

So if you want to get out of the “hate myself club,” start doing something for your soul just as much as—or even more than—you do for your body.

Lift weights.

Eat the protein.

Take care of your body.

But open your Bible, too.

Pray.

Worship.

Get quiet.

Remember who you belong to.

Because the goal was never to create a body you could worship.

The goal is to become a person who worships God with the body He gave you.

Happy Labor Day! We know most of you have the day off, but there’s no days off when you own your own business. We are grateful and thankful for every single one of you!
What you don’t see typically is the behind the scenes - we clean, plan the next sessions, pray, research, practice, work on schedules (personal and clients), etc.
Today, I am reminded of how blessed I am to be able to walk through our doors and have the opportunity to work with some really amazing people.
The biggest blessing though is seeing the relationships that are built and grown inside the gym AND outside the gym.

God orchestrates the most beautiful symphony when two or more people who’ve never met walk through the doors of Tarbell’s Barbells are are on a similar path- not just to get stronger- but in general life of raising children, feeling completely overwhelmed by the world, working in similar fields or companies, looking for answers on how to solve a problem they’ve never faced before. It’s not just a gym, it’s a community.

Thanks for being a part of us. May you all be blessed today and move your body!
