We are so good at convincing ourselves that we can’t do more, can’t go any further, or need to quit long before our bodies have reached their limits. Our brains lie to us all the time and we need to learn/build the skills to know what’s reality and what we need to ignore.
Has your brain ever convinced you that you couldn’t go any further, when in hindsight you knew you could?

Happy Summer Solstice☀️! I don’t know where you are but it is HOOOTTT here in Texas, which is the perfect timd to remind you to hydrate.
Often times when I’m talking about mental/cognitive skills I have to start at the very foundation of our existence (water and sleep), the other skills have little value if we are dehydrated or extremely fatigued. Our performance can severely suffer with as little as 2% of water lose and this is more common than you think, especially in this heat.
Tips for hydration :
💧drink water throughout the day and set a goal for roughly at least half your body weight in ounces.
💧Make sure you are eating properly, water alone just flushes electrolytes out of our system.
💧 Take electrolytes as need (Gatorade, liquid iv, drip drop, salt tablets etc.)
💧Limit your caffeine to under 500 MG a day.
💧Drink water first thing in the morning.
💧Buy a water bottle you love and will be motivated to use.
So let’s drink up 💦

The actions we take become the habits we form. Those habits become who we are and how we respond. Even in those moments that may not seem important, it becomes a part of who we are. Think of it like character memory. Our effort is something that is 100% within our control, so always give 100%. We play how we practice so practice the way you want to play.

As you’re setting your goals and intentions for 2023, it’s important to make sure you have the right motivation behind them. Connect your goals to what you value and let those values serve as your “North Star” this year.
We are more likely to sustain our behaviors and feel less anxiety to achieve our goals when we use the fundamental principles of who we are to guide us. Our goals become more meaningful to us when they are connected to us and not solely connected to external motivation.
If you are someone who chooses a word for the year, you’re already doing this.
