It’s manatee Monday! I got to meet the newest little pal in the cove today. In the first photo toward the left side you can see the little baby’s face cuddling mom’s big paddle tail. In the second photo, they swam under my kayak. The mom is on the left and the baby is on the right. In the third photo I feel like you can see wrinkles on his skin that have to be from being folded up in the womb, I mean this is a fresh fresh nugget.
Please stop littering

Seems like this year we have some unseasonably bright dinoflagellate bioluminescence hanging on to summer as long as it can. It might have honestly been brighter than I have EVER seen it tonight. We saw massive schools of mullet, and I was finally able to get video of them making their glowing trails in the water, probably my favorite thing to see above all else out there. The manatees and dolphins said hello and we saw a shooting star too! The man on the tour was an engineer that worked on the telescope they just launched this morning so it was really cool to get to learn a little about that and talk about space stuff too!

Shoooooeeeeeeee that was a tour for the books. A mom and a baby dolphin right at the front of the canal into the lagoon, I got some great footage of each of my groups with them swimming near the kayaks, 10/10 bioluminescence, choice night sky and still meteors and an incredible rocket launch with a super loud sonic boom! Absolutely delightful night at work. It has been a very busy couple of weeks and I’m so grateful. Only two seats left on tomorrow’s 8:30pm tour, you should come!

For the inaugural “Manatee Monday” today, I grabbed a cookie butter latte from Espressology ! It was great and it tasted even better because there was a cute bear on top.
The manatees slept in later than me today, they were very quiet when I arrived so I didn’t stream while building my paddle box like I planned. Noted, I should have known. Manatees are lazy why would they wake up early. Next week’s manatee Monday will commence around noon. That means more sleep for me too!
I’m just setting up shop at the park, so I had a lot to do today that involved power tools and hardware stores, maybe some light swearing looking at an instruction booklet. By the time I built my paddle box, my phone was low battery from watching the YouTube video in the sun when I gave up on the booklet. Thusly, I failed to live stream. I did get a great video of their “cuddle puddle” (😳) after I got all of my boats moved in and secured while my phone charged. You can find it below this post!
I’m gonna do Manatee Monday every week because I heckin love coffee and it’s a great way to make one day of my bad habit (fancy lattes) less guilty. Featuring a local cuppa/my sweet lil kayak dream here/my new manatee friends is going to be a fun way to start every week. Maybe if it catches on we can have a bookable tour for the stream slot and all enjoy the manatees together!
