“Calm down” is one of the most common things parents say.. AND one of the least effective.
Here’s why: a child in the middle of a meltdown isn’t choosing not to calm down. Their nervous system is in a state where logic and control aren’t accessible yet. Asking them to “just calm down” is asking them to do something their body isn’t capable of in that moment.. which is why it usually makes things worse, not better.
What actually helps isn’t more words. It’s lowering your voice instead of raising it, getting on their level, and giving you own calm nervous system as something for theirs to borrow. Real regulation isn’t built in the moment of chaos. It’s built in the calm, connected moments before and after it.
This is exactly the kind of pattern we help identify and support AND rewire! We start with a look at how your child’s nervous system is actually functioning.
This Saturday, come hang for an hour with the docs 8/29 @ 11am.
We’re talking all things regulation so you walk away with tools.

Wellness is a family affair. 🤍
As we head into a new school year, routines shift, schedules fill up, and little nervous systems have a lot to navigate.
Because sometimes the little things we notice in our children are simply their way of communicating that they need support, connection, or a little more regulation.
This is your reminder that wellness doesn’t have to be another thing on the to-do list. Creating consistent routines, connection, and space to regulate can help support the whole family as you settle into a new season.
Here’s to starting the school year feeling connected, supported, and ready for whatever comes next. ✨
Remember, for the entire month of August, we are discounting the new patient experience to just $90! And there are only a few spots left. Comment ‘regulated’ and we’ll reach out to you to get scheduled!

Every “difficult” behavior is communicating something. Most parents just haven’t been given the translation.
A meltdown over a transition isn’t defiance. A kid who can’t sit still isn’t ignoring you. A child who won’t try new foods isn’t being dramatic. These are nervous system responses, not behavior or character flaws.
Once you read what the behavior is actually saying, the whole parenting experience changes.. because you stop fighting the behavior and start supporting the system underneath it.
If you’re ready to find out what’s going on with your child’s nervous system, a new patient experience is where we start. And for the entire month of August, that experience is just $90 (normally $290). Comment ‘Back to school’ and we’ll get you started.
Our upcoming in-person workshop is ‘raising regulated kids’ and emotional regulation. August 29th. Sign up link in bio.

August is a nervous system event, not just a schedule change.
New wake times, new teacher, new rules, new noise, new social demands, a full day of sitting still and process more input than they did all summer. For most kids that’s an adjustment. For some kids, it’s overload… and FAST.
We’re not guessing how their nervous system is handling it. We’re checking.
All August, the new patient experience is $90. That includes a full nervous system scan and a consult with one of our doctors, so you have real data on where your kids system stands before the school year ramps up, not after the meltdowns start.
And on August 29th, we’re hosting a FREE workshop on emotional regulation for parents. What’s actually happening in a shutdown or a meltdown, and what to do in it. No cost, just real tools.
Swipe through for both. Send ‘back to school’ and we’ll get you booked, or click the link in bio to RSVP to that in person workshop!
