🏆 Honoring a Legend – It is hard to put into words what Dave Bennetts has meant to the sport of wrestling.
After an incredible lifetime dedicated to athletics, coaching, officiating, leadership, and service - and more than 30 years of unwavering commitment to AAU Wrestling - Dave is stepping away from a career that has touched countless lives.
His list of accomplishments is remarkable. Hall of Fame inductions, national awards, state and national recognition, and decades of excellence as an official and leader all speak to his dedication. But if you ask those who know Dave, they'll tell you that his greatest achievement isn't found on a plaque or trophy.

It's the people.

Dave has mentored generations of officials, encouraged wrestlers and coaches, and built friendships that span the entire wrestling community. He has always been the first to lend a hand, share his knowledge, offer encouragement, or simply make someone feel welcome. His integrity, humility, and passion have set the standard for what it means to serve others.
For decades, Dave has been the steady, dependable presence that so many have relied on. He never sought recognition - he simply showed up, worked tirelessly, and gave everything he had because he believed in the athletes, the officials, and the future of our sport.
People like Dave are rare. It is not often you find someone willing to give so much of themselves, year after year, simply to make wrestling better for everyone else. His impact reaches far beyond the mat and will continue to be felt for generations.
While this chapter may be coming to a close, Dave's legacy will never fade. Every official he mentored, every athlete he inspired, every coach he supported, and every friendship he made is a testament to the extraordinary person he is.

From all of us in the wrestling family, thank you, Dave. Thank you for your leadership, your friendship, your countless hours of service, and your unwavering commitment to the sport we all love.

Congratulations on an incredible career. Your legacy is unmatched, your impact immeasurable, and you will always be a treasured part of the AAU Wrestling family.

🏁 **That's a wrap!**
The final whistle has blown, the wrestlers have headed home, the stands are empty, and the building is quiet once again.
As everyone packed up and made their way home, we were finally able to catch a few photos of the incredible crew that's usually behind the scenes (we even stole a couple from their downtime to say thank you). These are the people who arrive before anyone else to roll out mats, set up score clocks, tables, and chairs, and make sure everything is ready for competition. And when the tournament is over, they're the last ones here - taking it all down, loading trailers, and leaving the venue ready for whatever comes next.
They don't ask for recognition but they are a huge part of what makes the AAU National Scholastic Duals such a success.
To every volunteer, staff member, and behind-the-scenes worker - thank you again for your countless hours, hard work, and dedication. We see you, we appreciate you, and this event simply wouldn't happen without you.
