Week 1 of the June semester of Operation 36 at HGCC is in the books! Coach Jake led the instruction this week on Putting! Students focused on aim by making sure the line they intend to roll their ball on matched up to their putter face correctly. Then students worked on making sure their stance was square!

Two different games were played to help prepare the golfers for Rank Up Challenges next Saturday!

The sticks are on the loose! Summertime 26'!

Sign up for Op36 Summer session is now open! New for this summer will be on course playing practices for Juniors who have made it to Level 3 (100 yards) and up. Those are in the mornings! Beginner Level 1 (25 yards) and 2 (50 yards) sessions are in the afternoons!

Hole 18 @ Hopkinsville Golf & Country Club!

It was a blast hosting the FCA Homeschool Huddle for a golf session today at the 9th & Trail Indoor Golf Center here in Hopkinsville! Game creation is one of the most fun things about golf instruction. Plungers, nerf guns, and building blocks..... yeah we can definitely work with that. Top it off with some sim time and a devotion on Prayer!

If putting accounts for 40% of the game on average then it deserves our attention. Putting fundamentals lesson coming out of winter along with wedge play!

Speed control games can help get us back and ready for the season. Closest to the fringe, wall, or pool needle with out hitting it is a great game to work on speed and be competitive at the same time.

As a junior athlete growing up in the early 90s, I remember most of the extra instruction I recieved was from VHS tapes that we had collected over the years. From Inside the NBA to Payne Stewart's Guide to Golf Etiquette, I would rewind and watch the videos over and over again. One of the videos that shaped my Golf game was Wally Armstrong's "Feel Your Way to Better Golf." It was an honor to meet Mr. Wally at the FCA Golf Breakfast at the 2026 PGA Merchandise Show. Really cool, full circle moment for me.
