As a mom of 2 teen daughters, what & how they drive is super important to me.
đ¤ Itâs not just do they like the look of the car, but whatâs the fuel economy and most importantly how will it be if the unfortunate happens? How big is the front end crumple zone? What are the blind spots like? What are the technology features and can you turn them off? Personally, Iâm not a fan of the automatic highbeams or the lane keep assist. But then again I also donât drive on my phone and itâs always on do not disturb. đ¤Ş
đ Hereâs a great list that insurance Institute of Highway safety has put together for those that wanna make sure theyâre making a good decision for their new drivers.

Ever notice how as we get older, joy sometimes feels harder to find?
Life gets busy. Responsibilities pile up. And instead of making space for what truly fills us up, we often settle for distractions just to get through the day.
Ironically, itâs similar to driving. When we donât leave enough space on the road, stress goes up and safety goes down. The same thing happens in life.
Jenn wrote a quick blog about why âcreating spaceâ matters both behind the wheel and in your daily routineâand how it might actually help your stress, focus, and patience more than you realize.
âď¸ Curious⌠whatâs one thing you need to make more space for this summer?
7 Ways Time Management Helps You On and Off the Road A question that often comes up in my Orlando traffic safety classes: Do you feel like joy is harder to come by as you get older?Adulting piles on responsibilities. Somewhere along the way, fun starts getting scheduled, skipped, or shoved aside. We chase quick dopamine hitsâscrolling, speeding, sna...

Behavior change doesnât happen in a single visitâand clinicians shouldnât have to do it alone.
As the burden of chronic disease continues to grow, integrating the right team-based support is becoming essential to delivering effective, sustainable care.
Thatâs where health and wellness coaches come in.
ACLMâs new toolkit helps clinicians and care teams better understand how to integrate HWCs into lifestyle medicine practiceâsupporting patients with strategies like motivational interviewing, goal-setting, and ongoing engagement.
The result:
- More consistent follow-through for patients
- More efficient workflows for care teams
- And stronger outcomes over time
Because lasting behavior change doesnât just come from informationâit comes from support.

GLPâ1s and other new obesity medications can be gameâchangingâbut medication alone isnât the solution.
From day one, the science behind GLPâ1s has paired pharmacotherapy with lifestyle support. Without it, patients risk nutrient deficiencies, muscle and bone loss, and stalled longâterm health.
In this Q&A, Dr. Jasdeep Saluja, chair of ACLMâs GLPâ1 Committee, explains why lifestyle factor conversations are essential for helping people using GLPâ1s not just lose weightâbut truly thrive.
This is what rootâcause, evidenceâbased care looks like: treating the whole person, protecting health capital, and building habits that last beyond the prescription.

While I agree. Letâs stop just blaming texting as the problem.
In driving classes, I challenge people at the beginning to not use their electronic devices but not because of what our society says about texting being bad while driving.
I want them to get curious about why they go to their phones in the first place.
âď¸Is it expectations?
âď¸Is it youâre tired and thatâs your habit to go to the phone?
âď¸ Are you stressed out and trying to get a ton of things done because you have too many things on your plate so your multitasking while youâre driving?
Those are the questions we really should be asking. ďżź
If you want long lasting behavioral change, then you need to uncover the root cause of whatâs causing it in the first place. Telling someone to stop texting and driving is like giving someone an aspirin when they have a fever. Well itâs helpful for the surface problem, you still need to get to the root cause of why they have a fever in the first place.
So whatâs causing you to be on your phone while driving?ďżź
