Congratulations to all of the players who skated with the Nebraska Aces this summer and have earned spots on Omaha travel teams for the upcoming season!

We're grateful you chose to spend part of your offseason skating with us, and we're excited to watch each of you continue your hockey journey. Congratulations on earning your spots!

Plus, it's awesome seeing so many familiar names on these rosters! From Flight School and Twig Fest to tournaments, clinics, and simply competing with friends around the rink. Best of luck to all of the Omaha travel teams this season!

Our Bantam Aces wrapped up the inaugural Route 66 Youth Hockey Showcase with a third-place finish and a 0–2–1 record on the weekend. They fought hard. They competed. And yes — things got a little chippy at times!

Springfield Legion knocked us out of contention for the championship game, and after spending the weekend battling one another on the ice, players from both teams came together afterward in a prayer circle. Thanks for having a great hockey culture, because though we were competitors during the game, ultimately, we're all part of a greater hockey community after the last buzzer.

Winning is fun, but there’s a lot more we hope these players take away from their time on the ice — competing hard, respecting the game and the people across from you, and remembering that when the final horn sounds, we're all part of the same hockey community.

To our Bantams, thank you for flying with us this summer. We wish each of you the very best as you head into your regular seasons. Keep working, keep competing, and keep being the kind of players who make this game better.

And thank you to Springfield Legion for a hard-fought weekend and for sharing a pretty special moment with our players when it was over!

CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY IN SPRINGFIELD!

The 12U Aces finished Saturday 2–0, earning the #1 seed and a spot in the Route 66 Championship game! They’ll take the ice at 10:30 AM against a TBD opponent with one more game to finish what they started.

Our Bantam Aces finished 0–1–1 and still have some work to do. They’ll battle it out at noon for their chance to punch a ticket to the 14U Championship at 1:15 PM!

This is it. The final day of the 2026 Summer Aces season. One more Sunday. One more chance to compete. One more chance to fly together. So let’s go out with a BANG💥

Congrats, Emmitt, on receiving Player of the Game this afternoon in your game against the Little Rock Aces! This game was a tough battle, and we ultimately lost 3-2 in OT, still Emmitt tallied one goal and one assist in the game! Way to keep working hard. Looking forward to tomorrow’s games!

TODAY’S THE DAY!

Today we kick off our last tournament of the summer season, as your Nebraska Aces have been invited to compete in the Route 66 Summer Youth Hockey Showcase in Springfield, Missouri!

A huge thank you to our hosts, Springfield Legion Hockey Club, for the invitation and for putting together a great weekend for these players.

Our 12U and 14U Aces are ready to hit the ice, compete against some new teams, and put everything they’ve worked on this summer to the test. Most of all, we’re looking forward to a fun weekend of hockey, teammates, and a few more memories before we officially close out our summer season.

We don’t do individual shout-outs often, but three of our Aces coaches agree this one deserves a spotlight…

James,
You’re a true Ace. An OG. You’ve been with us since the beginning and have continuously showed up on and off the ice with the determination and motivation of ten skaters! We’ve seen you push yourself to get better, and we all agree that you’re the most improved player on the Aces squad. You often told us that you wanted to make the travel team for your regular season association. You set your goal and you worked to achieve it—and we couldn’t be more proud of you! Congratulations, James. Keep flying HIGH!

This popped back up in our feed, and how timely…we have a few more coming hot off the line as we prep for our final tournament of the summer—three new Aces will be putting on the sweater as we head to Springfield, MO for the Route 66 Cup in just ten days!

This weekend, we had the chance to welcome seven players from the Tri-City Jr. Storm Sq**rt team for a little preseason friendly — two hours of shared ice, mixed benches, game situations, and a chance to knock off some rust before the regular season gets underway!

When the conversation started about finding a fun, low-pressure way to get the kids back on the ice before the season, we’re pretty grateful one of their parents thought of the Aces.

A group of our Sq**rt and Peewee Aces jumped in, Tri-City borrowed five of our players to round out their bench, and for two hours, it wasn’t really about whose jersey anyone was wearing. It was just kids playing hockey.

This is how we grow the game. More opportunities to get on the ice. More chances to play without worrying about a scoreboard. More connections between programs. More kids meeting kids they’ll probably see across the faceoff circle plenty of times over the next several years — and learning that competitors can be friends, too.

A huge thank you to the Tri-City Jr. Storm players and families for making the trip and spending the afternoon with us. We loved having you on the ice and hope there’s plenty more hockey together in our future!
