If your lower back and hips feel tight all the time, stretching probably isn’t the answer.
Here’s what’s usually going on: sitting all day keeps your hips and lower back short and tight, and your glutes switch off. So you stretch — you get ten minutes of relief, and then the tightness is right back.
The real fix is to open the front and strengthen the back:
Walk the incline — and don’t hold on. It opens tight hips and wakes your glutes.
Hyperextension — pinch your shoulders back, draw the belly button in, and strengthen your glutes and low back.
Leg press — load your legs with full stability, so you build strength without straining your spine.
Don’t stretch it. Strengthen it. (And if the pain is sharp or won’t go away, get it checked first.)

Happy 4th of July, Omaha. 🇺🇸
250 years of this country — and 41 of them spent right here, helping our neighbors get stronger and live better.
Today we’re grateful for exactly that: this community, this city, and every person who walks through our doors.

Want to strengthen your heart and your glutes at the same time — without beating up your knees? Save this.
It's muscle-centric cardio: a 30-minute incline walk. Warm up 5 min at 5% incline, build 5 min at 8%, then your 10-minute peak at 10% (around 3 mph). The push is the hard part — 5 min at 12–15% incline, 2.5 mph — before a 5-minute cool-down.
Three tips: if you're leaning on the rails, your settings are too high — slow down. Strike with your heel and drive through to fire the glutes. And swing your arms while engaging your abs.

1. If you’re leaning forward and gripping the rails, your speed/incline are too high. Nothing wrong with slowing down.
2. Strike with your heel and drive through — that’s how you actually fire the glutes.
3. Swing your arms and engage your abs. Holding on the whole time? Slow down.
