Texas A&M University has named Monica Mundo Elliott as the new director of OPAS, succeeding retiring director Anne Black🔗⬇

Von Miller explained how a college course he initially selected to improve his GPA ultimately inspired his involvement in the poultry business:

"I was at Texas A&M, and I was taking easy classes. My GPA wasn’t the best, so I had to take classes to help out with my GPA. One of those classes was Meat Production 101."

Miller said Professor Morgan Farnell regularly woke him when he fell asleep and required him to explain what had been covered during class.

"In turn, it really made me learn the chicken business, and that was my backup plan. If I make it to the league, I’m going to use the money to start a chicken farm."

Miller later partnered with Texas farmers to co-found Greener Pastures Chicken near Elgin. The company produces pasture-raised, USDA-certified organic chicken and follows third-party animal-welfare standards, and his long-term ambition is to develop the company into a major poultry operation while maintaining its organic, pasture-raised, and humane-farming approach.
