Awesome to see former CBL player Matt Keating (’20 Black Sox / ‘21 Filthballers) now pitching for the Somerset Patriots, the AA affiliate of the New York Yankees.
Even better? Matt’s former CBL coach, Sonny Sunagel, recently made the trip to watch him pitch this past weekend in Akron. A pretty cool full-circle moment from the summers he spent in the Corn Belt League to where he is today! We’re excited to keep following along.

Mike Knockenhauer caught up with Colton Blakley of Redlands Baseball following the Championship Game after his clutch 3-run home run helped power the Black Sox to the tournament title.
Blakley was a force throughout the postseason, collecting seven hits in four games. His run included a game winning hit in the play-in game, a game-tying hit against the 1-seed, and then a huge 3-run homer in the title game.

A CHAMPION WILL BE CROWNED TONIGHT.
The stage is set for the final game of the Corn Belt League season as the #8 Black Sox battle the #2 Haymakers for the Postseason Championship. The Black Sox have fought their way through three elimination games, taking down the #9 Red Raiders, #1 Cropdusters, and #4 Bombers to complete an incredible run to the title game. The Haymakers earned their spot by building early leads and withstanding late rallies from the #7 Royal Blue Dogs and #6 Rail Riders.
After four regular-season meetings, the season series stands deadlocked at 2–2:
