As we get ready for another Barn Comp this weekend, we’re reminded of what makes the ninja community so incredible and how much the sport has evolved.

We’ve had the opportunity to hear from two different perspectives, the Folsom parents, who have watched their family grow alongside the sport, and Daniel Gil, who has been competing on the international stage for more than a decade.

The obstacles have changed. The skills have changed. Moves that once seemed impossible are now being trained by the next generation of athletes. But through all that evolution, one of the best parts of ninja has stayed the same: the community.

The countdown to a run isn’t just waiting, it’s preparation.

From music and stretching to visualization and quiet moments, every ninja has their own way of preparing. The moments before stepping onto the course can help athletes calm their nerves, build confidence, and find their focus.

We asked some of our ninja friends at World Finals: “How do you get yourself competition ready?”

In mid July we headed out to Harrisburg, PA for FINA Ninja World Finals. The three-course format—Speed, Endurance, and Head-to-Head, created an exciting challenge with each course bringing something different, making for a fun and competitive championship.

Beyond the competition, so many laughs, unforgettable memories, and time well spent with ninja friends from all over the country.

We enjoy seeing how much FINA continues to grow and evolve and excited to see where this league continues to go.

One of the most fun courses of the trip. Jackson had the chance to race alongside some of the best ninjas on a fast, flowy course that rewarded speed, pull strength and cardio. An incredible experience from start to finish!
