Memorial Marathon Weekend is right around the corner! No matter what distance you’re running, make sure you’re ready with this pre-race checklist.
Race day nerves are brutal, but being prepared is the best way to let yourself focus on what matters: crushing your goals!

Running takes time. The more you put in, the more you can get out. So what should you expect as the amount of time you can train (and the amount of training your body can handle) increases?
These ranges are generalizations, and your mileage will (literally and figuratively) vary!
Want to know the right amount of time for you, or when you’ll be ready to take it to the next level? We can help! Send us a DM today to set up a free consultation 🏃🏃♀️🏃♂️

While we were asleep on this side of the world, Christian was crushing a half marathon on a highway in Malaysia!
Despite a 3 AM start to try to avoid the tropical humidity, Christian cruised to a 1:51 finish in his longest effort since moving overseas earlier this year. His splits were a masterclass in negative split pacing, with each 5K a bit faster than the last all the way through to the finish line.
Our eyes are set on the Tokyo Marathon in March, and we’re eager to see how Christian’s fitness continues to develop over the next 11 weeks of training.

Turkey Trot weekend did not disappoint, and the squad was hungry for more than just dinner. They lined up across the metro (and the country??) to throw down some seriously fast times!
• Joe ran 15:54 in blustery Chicago conditions for 3rd overall
• Madalyn clocked 19:22 in OKC for 4th female
• Brendan went 15:33 in Norman, also securing a 3rd place finish
Up in Edmond, Kyle B. ran 18:22 for 2nd in his age group, and Abby brought home 2nd in hers as well with a 23:53 🥈
Great efforts from everyone this weekend. We are always thankful for all the hard work these folks put in!

Check out what a couple of our Scissortail Running athletes were up to this weekend!

After a crazy start that had him face to face with the asphalt, Brendan recovered fast to make his SR Elite debut with a win at this year’s Runway Mile! His 4:30 is just two seconds shy of the race record… set by fellow Scissortail Elite athlete Andrew Leahey back in 2022 👀
Halen was hot on Brendan’s heels, snagging runner-up in 4:39 after a couple of spicy 5K races earlier this fall.
Both Halen and Brendan are gearing up for a fast half marathon at the Houston Marathon weekend in January, but keep an eye out for some more fast times as they sharpen up before the half!
