There's no itinerary for a Callawassie summer, and yet somehow everyone finds their way into it: a dock full of kids, an early paddle that turns into a dolphin sighting nobody expected, an evening dinner that turned into half the neighborhood.

It adds up to something none of us actually planned. Read more in our latest blog: https://www.callawassieisland.com/2026/08/04/you-dont-have-to-plan-it/

Bike parked, racquet bag ready, match about to start. This is how you know pickleball season's in full swing and especially with the temps "cooling" off.

However you get to the courts, just get there! šŸ“ Let's hear a shout out from our pickleballers!

Some places build paths. Ours follow where the land leads.

Every curve, every turn of this boardwalk honors the shape of the land—and the pace of those who walk it. Here, serenity isn’t designed. It’s preserved.

There is a certain stillness you notice first—not silence, but calm. It arrives with the soft movement of marsh grass at sunrise.

September gets a reputation for winding down in most places. But, nobody told the crape myrtles or our amazing staff that keeps the beds looking like this in the last stretch of Lowcountry heat!

Some things just don't get the "quiet season" memo and we're glad! The beauty of Callawassie Island is always visible.

17 uninvited guests, zero interest in pace of play on Callawassie's incredible courses. šŸ˜†

Technically, the wood storks are a threatened species but seeing this today shows us our environment is thriving for them! And our shallow ponds give them an extra ease of finding the fish they eat.

As a certified National Wildlife Federation, this is exactly the kind of guest list it was designed to attract. šŸ’

Every season runs through this door eventually: the spring meetings, the summer parties, the clubhouse lunches that ran long after a round of golf.

With fall on it's gentle way, foot traffic doesn't slow down on Callawassie Island. Our doors swing open the same way they always have and for whoever's walking up next.

That's the thing about a clubhouse and community like ours, it doesn't take a season off, it just waits for its next full house. šŸ’—

Some of the live oaks found on this island were already a century old before the first home went up around them. 🌳

These beauties can live up to 300 years and you can't miss how perfectly they adorn the Spanish moss. Without any harm to the tree, the moss just borrows a place to hang, pulling everything it needs from the air itself.

Callawassie's covered in them: over the fairways, along the lagoons, arched above driveways and porches on nearly every street. They were here before any of us, and they'll be the one constant while every other season on this island comes and goes.

Today honors the work behind the ease; the greens crews out before sunrise, and all of the staff who keep every corner of this island ready before anyone asks. Their care is what makes a place like this run quietly and well, every day of the year, not just this one.

Wishing all of the laborers a restful day, and our thanks to all who make it possible for our community and our country!
