Yesterday was a truly special day aboard the La Bella Vita!
During a sunset sail along the Oceanside coastline, Young surprised his girlfriend, Jessica, with a very special question. Jessica thought they were simply heading out for an afternoon sail before dinner but little did she know her life was about to change! And the best part? She said YES! We feel fortunate to be a part of these unforgettable moments and to witness the beginning of a life together. Congratulations, Young and Jessica! Thank you for letting us be part of your special day. We wish you both many happy and healthy years together!

Our guests, who were celebrating three recent birthdays, thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular sunset we experienced in Oceanside two days ago. To make the evening even more special, we spotted a small pod of dolphins, truly the perfect “icing on the cake”! Thank you Jackie and Debrah, hope it was a memorable trip.

One of the great things about being part of the charter community here in Oceanside Harbor is knowing that we can count on one another when needed. As captains, we are legally limited to six passengers per vessel, so when a group exceeds that number, it often takes a little teamwork to make it happen. Today was a perfect example. Our friend and fellow captain, Bryan Wells of Wind and Water Sailing Charters, booked a charter for 12 guests, so we joined forces and took half of the group aboard the La Bella Vita. These great photos of the La Bella Vita from today’s charter were taken by Captain Wells as we sailed together off the coast of Oceanside. We also work closely with another good friend and colleague, Captain Les George of Pacific Coast Sail Charters. Whether one of us has a large group, needs an additional vessel, or could simply use a helping hand, we know we can count on each other. I have also included photos of Captain Wells vessel, "Gaviota" and Captain Les' vessel, "Obsession" during our double charters.

If you look closely, you can see a pod of bottlenose dolphins cruising just ahead of the Summer Wind today, with Captain Glenn at the helm. One of the advantages of sailing with two of our vessels is the opportunity to capture moments like this from a completely different perspective.

We had two charters today, and with both being larger groups, we had the opportunity to utilize two of our vessels. Our guests were treated to our resident sea lions, a pod of offshore bottlenose dolphins, and the highlight of the day, a beautiful cow and calf pair of Humpback Whales! Watching a mother and her calf together is one of those special encounters that never gets old. I am pretty sure these are memories our guests will be talking about for a very long time.

While the dolphins, whales, and other marine wildlife apparently decided to take this weekend off, Mother Nature certainly didn’t disappoint! We had our fill of spectacular sunsets, beautiful ocean conditions, plenty of laughter, a boatload of smiles, and most importantly, countless memories made with some truly wonderful people. Wildlife sightings are always an exciting bonus, but days like these remind us that sometimes the best part of being on the ocean is simply slowing down, enjoying the company around you, and watching another incredible Southern California sunset disappear over the horizon. But, we had an extra special reason to celebrate! 🎉🎂🥂 We were honored to help our guest Amy celebrate her 60th birthday aboard the La Bella Vita! What better way to mark such a wonderful milestone than surrounded by friends, fresh ocean air, and a gorgeous Oceanside sunset? Happy 60th Birthday, Amy! 🎂 We’re so glad we could be a small part of your special day!

Last night aboard our vessel, Summer Wind, Captain Glenn had the privilege of witnessing a very special moment. As the sun was setting over the Pacific, Amilcar popped the question…and Lisa, amid tears of joy, said YES!!! 💍❤️ We absolutely love being part of moments like these, memories that will last a lifetime. Congratulations, Amilcar and Lisa! Thank you for allowing Pacific Marine Charters and the Summer Wind to be a small part of such an important moment in your lives. We wish you both a lifetime of love, laughter, happiness, and many more beautiful sunsets together.
