A picturesque facility boasting some of the best trail riding in North County, Stepp Stables offers boarding, training, and lessons. Stepp Stables is accepting new boarders on a month-to-month basis for self-care boarding only. This temporary boarding opportunity will be available through February 1, 2027. Interested parties may contact Stepp Stables for additional information and availability.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of our Stepp Stables, effective February 28, 2027.
This was not an easy decision. After careful evaluation, leadership has decided to discontinue operations so resources can be redirected toward recreational and community programs that better meet the evolving needs of the Camp Pendleton community.
We know the Stables have created lasting memories for many Marines, families, and guests over the years, and we are sincerely grateful for your support and patronage.

Civilians will receive a DBIDS pass once a boarding contract is completed which allows 24/7 stables access through the San Luis Rey gate. Able to be sponsored aboard to view the facility on select days.
We will be sponsoring on potential boarders 27-June from 1000-1030 to view the facility. If you decide to board your horse here, and have attended the event, you will receive $50 off your first months board. Please contact us for more information.

Welcome to our Herd Pasture, a one-of-a-kind space for horse owners looking for a private yet roomy area to board their multiple horses. Previously home to the Stepp Stables trail ponies, the pasture has stalls for up to FIVE horses, multiple hay feeders, a water trough, and shaded shelter.
Included with board is access to multiple round pens, large arenas, direct access to over two dozen miles of trails, trailer parking, and more!
