MEDAL MONDAY 🏅
The Dixon Lake Trail Races will be held December 12th, and this year’s race shirt and finisher medals are officially here!
Dixon Lake is not the place to come looking for flat miles. The courses take runners through the trails of Daley Ranch with a mix of singletrack, dirt service roads, plenty of climbing, and some seriously good views. If you’re taking on the 10 Miler, you’ll make the climb to Stanley Peak for 360 degree views from the top.
📅 December 12th, 2026
📍 Daley Ranch, Escondido
🏃 5k | 10k | 10 Miler
Pick your distance, get ready to climb, and earn one of these at the finish line.

🌄 ERS Friday Trailhead: Hosp Grove
Tucked right into Carlsbad, Hosp Grove is a smaller trail system that can still give you a solid workout. The trails wind through a historic eucalyptus grove (dating back to 1908), with plenty of shade, packed dirt, rolling terrain, and short climbs and descents that add up quickly when you start connecting loops.
There are about three miles of trails within the grove, but it’s easy to put together a 4–6+ mile run by repeating and connecting different sections. Along the way, you’ll also find spots with views toward Buena Vista Lagoon and the coast.
📍 Jefferson St or Monroe St trailheads
🏃♂️ 3 miles of trails, 4–6+ miles with added loops
⛰️ Easy
Hosp Grove is a great option for a shorter trail day, some hill repeats, or an easy run under the eucalyptus trees without having to leave the city.

RUN CLUB SPOTLIGHT 🔦
San Diego has an incredible run club community, and we’re kicking off a new series highlighting the groups bringing runners together across the county.
First up is San Diego Trail Runners (). Every Monday evening, the crew meets at Mission Trails for about four miles on the trails. All runners and paces are welcome, and no one gets left behind. It’s a great group for meeting more trail runners, exploring Mission Trails, and starting the week with some miles and good company.
📍 Mission Trails Regional Park | Mondays at 6PM
🏃 Avg. 4 miles | Trails | All paces welcome

The ERS community is so much bigger than the runners wearing the bibs. It’s the volunteers filling cups, working aid stations, helping at the start and finish, cheering when you need it most, and giving up part of their day to make sure everyone else has a great race. ❤️
Our runners may be the ones crossing the finish line, but it takes an entire community behind them to make race day happen. To our volunteers, supporters, crew members, and cheerleaders, thank you for showing up for our runners and for ERS. We couldn’t do this without you.

🌄 ERS Friday Trailhead: Bernardo Mountain
If you’ve run around Lake Hodges but haven’t made the climb up Bernardo Mountain, add this one to your list. Start with runnable miles along the Coast to Crest Trail before turning toward the mountain, where the route quickly changes to rocky singletrack, switchbacks, and a steady climb to the summit.
The Bernardo Mountain Summit Trail is about 1.95 miles each way with roughly 800 feet of climbing. Starting from the Bernardo Bay area makes for a 6 – 7+ mile outing, depending on the route you choose.
📍 Bernardo Bay, West Bernardo Drive
🏃 6–7+ miles round trip
📈 800 ft of gain on the mountain climb
⛰️ Moderate to Difficult
Once you reach the top, you’ll get wide-open views of Lake Hodges and the surrounding North County hills. A solid local option when you want some runnable miles and a good climb in the same day.
