Angelito Ong shared an update from the 2026 Chuncheon Korea Open showing a hard-fought day for the VTKD-USA team. Semifinals resume Sunday, July 19, with Ong, Sharpe, Guimond, and Samuel still in the hunt.

Subject: Exciting Announcement: Upcoming Virtual Event in Chuncheon, Korea!

Dear Masters and Coaches,

I hope this message finds you well! I am thrilled to share some fantastic news regarding our upcoming virtual event in Chuncheon, Korea, scheduled for July 18-19, 2026.

We now have expanded age categories for participation! The event will welcome athletes aged 10-12, 13-14, and 15-35, both boys and girls. To compete, participants must have a USATKD membership and a Global ID (WT Membership). Don’t worry if you don’t have these yet; we are here to assist you in obtaining them. Please note that athletes under 12 years old will only require the USATKD membership and will not need a Global ID (WT).

The registration fee is $69, and you can register at nextgenesports.us For belt requirements, athletes should hold a Black Belt or Poome. I believe Deputy Black may also be acceptable, but I will confirm if colored belts can participate as well.

Please note that the registration deadline for the Chuncheon, Korea Open is June 23. Additionally, we will be holding team trials on June 13 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Ong's Taekwondo School. If you’re interested in participating, please feel free to message me for more information.
