Most players train their shot like it’s a math equation perfect form, perfect mechanics, every time.

But that’s not how real goals get scored at high levels.

Elite scorers don’t wait for perfect setups.

They fire off balance.

They twist around defenders.

They snap it from awkward positions because that’s when goalies are most exposed.

If you only practice “ideal” form, you’ll miss open nets when the game gets chaotic.

Want to break down how to actually score more in unpredictable moments?

Comment SCORE and I’ll send you a free mini course on how to read and expose goalies.

Every team has that player the coach clearly doesn’t like…
but somehow keeps putting back on the ice.

In high school and college, I obsessed over coach approval and
I chased feedback.

I replayed every social interaction in my head.

I would look around in practice to make sure the coach saw my nice move.

Meanwhile, there were guys on my team who didn’t care at all.

They joked around and ignored the noise.

There’s actual research behind this.

When people are heavily monitored, performance drops.

When pressure is removed, learning accelerates.

The mistake I made?

I trained to look good to my coach, not to actually get better.

The players coaches trust aren’t the most obedient.

They’re the most reliable under chaos.

If you want to know what coaches and scouts actually look for and what feedback you should ignore comment MIND55 and I’ll send you the guide.

Most players think Kane and Bedard beat goalies with “fast hands.” The truth is they beat them with timing.

Bedard’s double‑clutch only works because it’s slow enough for the goalie to bite. Kane skates one way to drag the goalie, then shifts his weight the other way to finish. If your fakes never move the goalie, you need to start them earlier and match your skating direction with your stick fake.

If you want a breakdown on how we teach this kind of deception to clients who are jumping lines and putting up points, comment MASTERCLASS1 and I’ll DM it to you.

Most AAA players judge themselves by how they look in drills… scouts don’t.

If you watched Celebrini in practice, you’d just see “good skater, good hands” like half the ice. The real reason he went first overall only shows up when the routes disappear and he has to make real reads under real pressure.

You’re not worse in games than in practice. You’ve just never trained the only thing games actually test. Comment ELITE and I’ll send you a breakdown on what to train instead.

If you’re not on a D1 path, your development is missing this.

You can be fast. Strong. Have a great shot.

But if your decision making and confidence aren’t there, you’ll get stuck.

That was me in high school.

I worked out harder, skated more, shot pucks every day and I still wasn’t getting where I wanted.

Here’s what I realized...

It’s not just about skill.

It’s about knowing when, where, and how to use it.

Look at the Panthers or Oilers are they the strongest teams in the NHL? Probably not.

They win because of elite decisions under pressure.

I put together a free step‑by‑step guide breaking down exactly how I teach players to develop this skill.

Comment TRAP3 and I’ll send it to you for free.

You don’t break defenders like Bedard or Celebrini by stacking perfect reps in your backyard.

Every 1 on 1 is about timing, not repetition.

Watch Bedard sell up the boards, then spin only once the defender commits.

That timing can’t be trained with predictable reps.

Celebrini does the same thing differently.

He doesn’t avoid defenders he molds them.

He draws their stick into a pass-block posture, then uses their body language to open space.

If your 1 on 1s aren’t working, it’s not a skill or effort problem.

It’s a brain-training problem.

How you train determines whether you play reactive and avoidant…
or influential and in control.

AAA, junior, college, and pro players I work with struggle with this exact issue.

That’s why I built a guide breaking down how to fix it step-by-step.

Comment or DM SECRETS1 and I’ll send you access immediately.

I used to dominate in practices.

Some might even say “TRY HARD”

I felt unstoppable, like I was the best player who also worked the hardest in practice.

Then games came around… and all that skill disappeared.

I’d try a move, get shut down, dump the puck, or panic-pass.

Coaches would yell at me to “keep it simple.”

It wasn’t until years later I realized the problem wasn’t my skill it was my decision making.

Bedard doesn’t go between the legs every time.

He reads the defenders.

If it’s there, he takes it. If not, he bails.

McDavid doesn’t always slice through guys sometimes he just sells it and dishes backdoor.

That’s the real difference: knowing when to attack and when to dish.

Every puck touch is a 1-on-1 evaluation.

If you don’t have a framework for that, all your skill work in practice won’t show up in games.

I created a guide breaking this down so you don’t waste years like I did. Comment TRAP3 and I’ll send it over.
