My roles in life include being a wife, a mom of two teenage girls, two crazy dogs, a cat and a snake, and I've been running a home-based business since 2014. Health-wise, I felt my best and had lots of energy in my 20s. Now, in my 40s I can again say the same. But, let
me tell you about my life changes in the decade between these times. Well, the number one biggest event was a move from Europe to the United States. Leaving our birthplace can have a huge impact on our health. Soon after my move, at the age of 27, I had my first child and entered into the world of motherhood. While my labor was an intense, harrowing three days, I had been fortunate enough to have an entirely enjoyable pregnancy with no health concerns. Those first years were wonderful and have no complaints about anything medically significant or even my weight. Everything changed with the birth of my second child four years later. Although I'm lucky to say the pregnancy was pleasant, my postpartum body did not react in the same way as the first time. My pregnancy weight stubbornly stayed with me, and I kept getting heavier. This is usually a sign of hormonal imbalance, though I didn't understand it then. This was only the beginning of an unhealthy period for me. In addition to the weight gain, I began to develop several health problems simultaneously. At 32, my gallbladder was removed after upon discovering large stone during an incredibly painful episode. Soon after the surgery, I suffered from liver inflammation, then predictably began having kidney issues, too. On top of all of this, I also struggles terribly with going to the bathroom. At that point, I was only able to have a small bowel movement every ten days or so. It was a celebration, the few times I only had to wait a week in between stools. You can imagine, the repercussions of holding in toxins and other things that a normal, healthy person should be eliminating daily. Looking back, I was taking several prescription medications pre and post surgery, undergoing tests, not eating or hydrating well, and battling my weight. All of this added a lot of stress, so my emotional state was unhealthy, too. Besides gut issues, I later developed asthma-like symptoms, chronic posture related pain, sleep irregularities, and constant fatigue. There were probably more concerns I don’t even remember now, but I bet this sounds familiar to so many of you. This was life in my 30s, until gradually shifted my focus and learned a different approach to whole body health. There are better ways to live and allow our bodies to perform as intended. The human body is an amazing, beautiful organism, and it can heal if you give it the chance. Today I often say to my client, “If you know better, you will do better.” Also, you may hear me constantly repeat that, “If I did it, you can too!” These are such simple words, but they are powerful. Well, my gallbladder is gone and I can’t change that, but my medications are gone, too. I'm back at the weight from my 20s and feeling healthy, energized, excited each new day and happy. For those of you who can't imagine this state of being anymore, I can teach you how to find your path. I can show you how to follow it daily. And, most importantly, I believe you can achieve your health and wellness goals.

There was a time I thought fresh starts only counted in January.
So every September, I would feel that pull toward something new, and then talk myself out of it. Not the right time, I would tell myself. Wait for the real new year.
But nothing about a fresh start requires a calendar's permission.
Isaiah 43:19 says, see, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
If you feel that pull toward something new right now, that is not too early. That might be exactly on time.
If you are ready for a new season, come start it with women who will walk it with you. Join Abundant Healthy Lifestyle. It is free.

So many of us treat sleep like it is negotiable. The thing we sacrifice first, because everything else on the list feels more urgent.
Here is your action for tonight. Pick one thing to protect your sleep. Phone away by nine. A dark room. Bed thirty minutes earlier. No food two hours before you lie down. Just one. Do it tonight and notice how tomorrow morning feels.
And here is what I want you to hold on to. Psalm 127:2 says, In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat, for he grants sleep to those he loves.
Rest is not a reward you earn once your list is done. Rest is a gift, given freely to people God loves. You are one of them. Maybe it is time to start receiving it like one.
You canceled the workout because your body simply needed rest, and then the guilt showed up right behind it. Lazy. Undisciplined. Falling behind again.
Rest is not the opposite of faithfulness. It is part of God's rhythm, built into creation itself, into every week He designed for us. Listening to your body when it asks for rest is wisdom, not weakness.
That said, if what you are feeling is more than tiredness, ongoing pain, exhaustion that does not lift, or symptoms that concern you, please bring that to a doctor. Honoring your body includes seeking real medical guidance when your body is asking for more than rest alone.
If you want support figuring out that balance, our community is here for that too.
For years, calming my body and praying felt like two separate things.
One was for my nervous system. The other was for my soul. I never thought to put them in the same room together.
Then I noticed something. The first thing my body needed when it was overwhelmed was the exact same thing my spirit needed. Stillness.
Psalm 46:10 says, be still, and know that I am God.
A slow breath and a quiet prayer are not two different tools. They can be the same one.
If you want to build a practice that calms your body and your spirit at once, come learn it with us inside Abundant Healthy Lifestyle. It is free.

You do not need a longer list of sleep habits. You already know the list.
Phone face down and out of reach by nine. A genuinely dark room. Bed thirty minutes earlier than usual. No food two hours before you lie down.
Pick one. Just one. Not all four tonight, not a brand new routine starting tomorrow. One small, sustainable change, so this becomes something you keep, not one more thing you fail by Thursday.
The idea of starting feels heavier than it should. A gym membership. The right shoes. An hour you do not have.
Here is the truth. You can start exactly where you are, today, with none of that. A ten minute walk. A few gentle stretches. Slow, intentional breathing. Simple bodyweight movement in your living room.
None of this requires equipment or a perfect plan, only a willingness to begin. And you do not have to do it alone, there is a community here cheering you on at whatever pace you are able to move.
Come find that community and a simple place to start.
My body knew I was overwhelmed long before my mind was willing to admit it. Tight shoulders. Shallow breath. A jaw I did not even realize I was clenching.
I used to call that stress. Now I think it was my body asking to be heard.
Philippians 4:6 to 7 says, do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
That peace does not just guard your thoughts. It guards your heart too, the same place your body carries everything you have not said out loud yet.
If you want to learn how to actually calm your body, not just your thoughts, come do it with us inside Abundant Healthy Lifestyle. It is free.
