We're back (mostly)! 🧽🪣 After five days of maintenance and deep cleaning, the fitness floor is open as of August 25. The gymnasium and fitness studios will remain closed until August 30 to allow floors time to finish curing.

Member Fred Karlin loves taking group classes at TPAC, especially BODYPUMP, Barre Sculpt and Cycle Journey.

“Having other people around gives me motivation,” he says. “I like the music, because it keeps me interested and makes the time go faster. And I like the instructors — they are all really good.”

A member since 2022, Fred says he is a big fan of TPAC. In fact, he recently convinced his girlfriend to become a member as well.

“It’s open and airy, there is a lot of sunlight. The members are really friendly, no one is judgmental. And the price is very reasonable!”

30-minute walks begin at 12pm every Thursday. No registration required.

Meet TPAC staff member Mario! 💚 From making sure that lights are working to cleaning, setting up for rentals and conducting building inspections, facility maintenance worker Mario Glowik does it all.

Mario has worked at TPAC since the facility opened in 2021.

“I like working here. I like to be among people, and most of the members know me by name,” he said. “People are friendly — they tell you where they went for vacation, or the health issues they have. Everyone is really nice."

Originally from Poland, Mario came to the U.S. at age 27. “I was always dreaming about coming to America and learning English,” he said.

After working several construction jobs, Mario was hired by the Park District in 2018. "It is a good employer, great benefits. This is the best job I ever had!"

Mario lives in Glenview with his wife, and likes to ride and take care of his motorcycle, a Honda VTX1800cc.
