We’re incredibly proud to recognize North Wilkes High School’s 2026 James Cook Memorial Scholarship recipients, Cam White and Kira Brinegar! ❤️
The James Cook Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of longtime Cook’s owner James Cook and recognizes local student-athletes who represent the qualities he valued most: sportsmanship, leadership, integrity, and putting their team before themselves.
Cam dedicated four years to the Vikings’ basketball program while also competing in football, baseball, and tennis. His coaches describe him as the definition of a team player, with an exceptional work ethic, positive attitude, and a willingness to always put his teammates first. Over his four years at North Wilkes, Cam has grown into one of the school’s strongest student leaders and role models.
Kira competed in indoor track for four years, while also participating in volleyball, soccer, softball, track, and tennis throughout high school. An All-Conference soccer selection and team captain, Kira has shown outstanding leadership on and off the field through her involvement in school clubs, community activities, and her continued commitment to serving others.
We couldn’t be prouder of these two. Now let’s show these student athletes some love and give them the recognition they deserve! 👏
