Grief asks a lot of us. And there is no one right way to move through it.

Grief Yoga is a space to meet whatever you’re carrying through movement, breath, sound, and meditation — without needing to explain it, fix it, or make it go away.

Led by certified Grief Yoga instructor Kim Bernardo, this gentle practice is less about physical flexibility and more about giving emotion somewhere to move. No previous yoga experience is needed.

Grief can come from the death of someone we love, but it can also come with endings, transitions, illness, change, heartbreak, or the loss of something we thought our life would hold. You don’t need to decide whether your grief is “big enough” to belong here.

Women’s Circle is back 🌊

An evening to gather, connect, reflect, laugh, listen, cry if you need to — or simply be in the room. There’s no expectation to show up any certain way, and you never have to share more than you want to.

Come exactly as you are, share what you want, receive what you need.

We spend a lot of time together at the studio. Oftentimes, the connections we make and conversations we have with fellow hOMetown students and teachers before or after class can feel special, but too short.

Maybe you’ve taken class with someone many times, and every time you see each other, you smile and say hi — but you’ve yet to have a full conversation.

Maybe you’re new to the studio — or new to the area — and you haven’t really met anyone yet.

So we thought it would be nice to hang out without the yoga mats for once 😄

Please join us Friday, October 2nd from 5:30–7:30pm for a good old-fashioned community potluck.

Bring something to share if you can — food, drinks, plates, utensils. Homemade or store-bought. Light fare or decadent. Anything goes! We just ask that if you bring food, please include a little label with the ingredients for those with food allergies or sensitivities.

And if bringing something would keep you from coming, please just come. There will be plenty.

No yoga class. No plan other than to eat some food and spend some time together. 🥰

It’s free, all ages are welcome, and you don’t have to be a hOMetown regular. Maybe you’re here all the time. Maybe you haven’t been in ages. Maybe you’ve never taken a class with us at all and just want to find out what hOMetown is all about.

We’d love to have you. 💙

Yesterday, we went on a little upside down adventure together 🙃

Thank you all for your curiosity, bravery, enthusiasm, and community spirit. 💙 You helped each other out. You encouraged each other. You kept each other safe.

Some of you were trying something absolutely brand new. Some of you were returning to an inversion practice for the first time in many years.

It didn’t need to be perfect.

There was so much learning in the trying and failing and trying again. In being patient with yourself. In being playful with yourself. In surprising yourself.

We laughed. We took deep breaths.

For some of you, it clicked. For others, not quite. And that is 1,000% OK.

Whether you can’t wait to practice another headstand or you’re content to never do one again 😂 — you are all welcome here.

You all come to hOMetown from different experiences — different bodies, different ranges of motion, different injuries, different health conditions, different energy levels. Maybe you didn’t sleep great the night before. Maybe it’s been a rough week.

The point is, you — we — are all different.

So our yoga practices will be different, too.

There is no pressure to perform here. No pressure to be or practice yoga like anyone else.

You get to practice in a way that honors you.

That can mean never lifting your feet off the floor into a headstand —

or not wanting to come down. 😜

My most favorite thing about yesterday was the support you all showed one another.

Your smiling faces — whether or not your feet ever left the floor — were infectious in the best possible way. 🥰

Thank you, thank you, thank you for being part of hOMetown.

Looking forward to our next class together. 🙏

This Sunday, give yourself a couple of hours with nowhere else to be. 🌙

Restorative Yoga with Rachel is a slow, supported practice with plenty of time to settle into each shape. Props do the work so you don’t have to.

Rest doesn’t have to wait until you’re running on empty. It can be part of what keeps you from getting there in the first place.
