This was right after he refused to accept his Oscar for The Godfather, and famously sent a Native American activist, Sacheen Littlefeather, to the stage to protest instead. When he got on this show, he completely refused to talk about his acting career. Instead, he dropped some heavy truths about how the system completely rewrites history. He basically breaks down how the conqueror and the oppressor are always the ones who get to write the history books, twisting the narrative to make themselves look like the good guys.
