Charleston Dog Training Club is excited about offering 4 scent work workshops by Judge Laurie Schlossnagle. These will take place November 14 and 15, 2026 at CDTC 9-1 PM and 2-6 PM each day. Member cost for a working spot is $70 or $45 for an auditing spot (no dog) for each workshop. Non-member cost for a working spot is $90 or $60 for an auditing spot (no dog) for each workshop. LUNCH WILL NOT BE SERVED.

The workshops being offered are:

Saturday 11/14 9-1 PM NOVICE–for those teams preparing to trial at either the Novice or Advanced levels. Teams should already be introduced to birch, possibly anise. Information about trialing along with working time on containers, buried, exterior, and interior elements will be included.

Saturday 11/14 2-6 PM THRESHOLDS & CORNERS–for teams already trialing at the Advanced level and above. Teams should already be working birch, anise, and clove. Information and practice working thresholds and corners will be included.

Sunday 11/15 9-1 PM ADVANCED–for those teams preparing to trial at either the Advanced or Excellent level. Teams should already be introduced to birch, anise, and possibly clove. Information about trialing along with working time on containers, buried, exterior, and interior elements will be included.

Sunday 11/15 2-6 PM NOVICE–(THIS WORKSHOP IS A REPEAT OF SATURDAY’S MORNING WORKSHOP)--for those teams preparing to trial at either the Novice or Advanced levels. Teams should already be introduced to birch, possibly anise. Information about trialing along with working time on containers, buried, exterior, and interior elements will be included.

Is your dog a good citizen? You can find out at the Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog testing on September 12 from 11am -1pm at 7644 Southrail Road. No registration required. First come, first served. No charge if you and your pup have taken our class; $10 if you haven't.

Obedience Run-throughs will be held on September 12 from 2:30p-5:30p at 7644 Southrail Road. These run-throughs give you 8 minutes in the ring to see where your team really stands before our trials are here in just a few short weeks. Run a full beginner novice, novice, open or utility run or focus on what you want with a "judge" in the ring. Link to sign up is in the comments.
