🏖️ National Sandcastle Day Competition Saturday, Aug. 1
Join us from 4–6 p.m. at Community Beach Park (700 E Ocean View Ave.) for a fun-filled sandcastle showdown.

With Family and Adult brackets, everyone can get in on the beachside creativity. Outdoor Recreation is hosting a sandcastle competition in honor of National Sandcastle Day. Come enjoy an afternoon playing in the sand. No pre-registration required.

Yesterday’s Jamestown Titustown Experience at Titustown Recreation Center was a beautiful reminder of the power of community. ✨

Kids and seniors came together to build their own vision of “community,” working side by side across generations. Using tools and materials inspired by the Jamestown era, participants collaborated, created, and shared their designs. The experience highlighted how history can connect us and how teamwork can shape the future.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined in this interactive and inspiring event. Together, we are building stronger bonds and a stronger community! 🛠️🏡🤝

The kids at Fairlawn Recreation Center had an unforgettable day with the Norfolk Firefighters! 🚒🔥 They explored what it truly means to serve and protect, learning about fire safety, discovering the tools of the trade, and even getting the chance to try on real firefighter gear.

This visit was the perfect way to bring Week 3: The Power of Community to life. Moments like these remind us how strong our community becomes when local heroes inspire the next generation.

Thank you to our Norfolk Firefighters for showing our youth the importance of teamwork, courage, and caring for one another!

Therapeutic Recreation Center summer programs are off to a great start. Participants of all ages are enjoying a summer full of outdoor recreation, crafts, fitness, community events and more!

East Ocean View seniors truly embodied that spirit as more than 129 participants came together for an unforgettable Mid-Year Picnic. The entire space was filled with laughter, fun games, live entertainment, delicious food, and amazing prizes. 🎉 The joy was contagious and every moment reflected the strength and connection of our community. ❤️ What a time they had celebrating together and showcasing the true power of community!

National Recreation and Parks Month is going strong and as we head into the rest of the month celebrations, we have so many more opportunities for everyone to get out and play!
