We are honored to be hosting the packet pick-up for the Joggin’ for Frogmen 5K on Friday June 19th.

Packet pick-up will be held at Running Etc. 1940 Laskin Rd., Suite 302, Virginia Beach from 3:00pm-6:00pm.

It is STRONGLY encouraged for participants to pick up your packet before race day.

The Joggin’ for Frogmen 5K is more than just a race – it’s a fun, family-friendly gathering with a heartfelt mission: to honor the sacrifices of our Naval Special Warfare service members and veterans and to support the families of our fallen heroes through the life-changing work of the Travis Manion Foundation.

At Running Etc., we love animals. Each Monday we highlight a dog or cat from a local rescue shelter. We hope to increase the networking for animals in need of a forever home. You might even find a wonderful running buddy, or more importantly, a terrific family member.

Today’s featured pets are available through Reba’s Animal Rescue.

Dream is a Malinois mix who has been through a lot of changes recently. She gave birth to 3 pups and arrived to Reba's Shortly after. Dream is looking for a forever home that can provide her with comfort, safety, and lots and lots of love.

Due to the many changes she has faced in such a short amount of time, Dream can be a little nervous when meeting new people so going slow and giving her space will help her break out of her shell.

Once she breaks out of that shell she will show you a whole new side to her! She gives the best hugs and loves to be with her people 24/7. She's super smart and already knows drop-it. She is super energetic and loves to play, whether its playing with toys, running in the grass, or even rolling around on the floor during a movie night.

Bean is a sweet little girl with a gentle heart and a quiet spirit. Sprout is a fun-loving little kitten packed into a tiny furry body. Sprout's and Bean are siblings and best friends. These two share a special bond and can often be found playing together, snuggling up for naps, or keeping each other company throughout the day. Wherever Bean goes, Sprout isn't usually far behind.

Yoshi is a 3-year-old Lab/Weimaraner mix weighing about 70lbs of pure energy and love! His favorite thing in the world? Chasing tennis balls —he could play all day!

Yoshi is still working on his manners, so he’s looking for a patient and committed person who’s ready to help him grow into his best self. With the right guidance, he’s sure to become an amazing companion.

Please join us in welcoming Vince as the newest full-time member of the Running Etc. team!

While Vince’s face may already be familiar to many of our customers, having been part of the Running Etc. family for nearly 20 years, he officially joined the full-time staff in June.

A Philadelphia native and retired Marine veteran, Vince began his running journey in 2001 while stationed in Mount Clemens, Michigan. There, he participated in numerous races and events, building a strong foundation of knowledge and passion for the running community. His love for the sport continued to grow as he traveled the world throughout his military career.

Although Vince enjoys mustering at the start of races alongside fellow runners, he is equally passionate about pacing events, encouraging and motivating runners to achieve their goals and reach new milestones.

Vince brings a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, and running knowledge to our team, and we are excited to have him in this new role.

When he’s not running, Vince enjoys riding his motorcycle and traveling with his wife, Rachel.

🎉 What an incredible two weeks it has been! Our Strava Segment Challenge wrapped up this past Saturday, and wow, we had a blast watching so many of you get out there and give it your all. It was such a joy to have participants stop by while tackling the challenge. We loved cheering you on!
A huge congratulations to everyone who took part. While we wish we could hand a pair of shoes to each of you, that’s the fun of the raffle, it keeps things exciting.

Special shoutouts go to our top winners from each shop, Bryan, Brittney, Natalija and Sam! And of course, Bryan, became an instant neighborhood celebrity smashing 705 segments! On top of that, he kicked off our sale with a jaw-dropping 40 miles of segments in honor of our 40th store anniversary. That sure was some dedication!

Congrats to all participants! We’re already cooking up our next challenge, and trust us, it’s going to be even more fun!

Forty years in business is an amazing accomplishment and a true testament to the impact Running Etc. has had on the Hampton Roads running community. From supporting runners of all levels to creating a welcoming space for athletes and active individuals, they’ve been helping people move better for four decades.

Well, that’s a wrap!

Our 40-year celebration has come to an end, and we are truly grateful to everyone who came out to support us during this milestone. For four decades, the love and encouragement from our community have touched our hearts in ways words can hardly capture.

A special thank you to the J&A family for the beautiful edible fruit bouquet. You’ve shared so many miles with us, and your thoughtfulness is deeply appreciated. A huge thank you goes to our Nike Ekin, Asha who sent us a meaningful money tree. We also want to thank the Burghart family for providing the bubbly to toast our 40 years together. It means the world to know that we’ve been able to touch the lives of those around us.

Here’s to the memories we’ve made, the friendships we’ve cherished, and the adventures still to come. Cheers to 40 years, and onward to 41!
