I will be closed this Friday, 9/18/26, to attend and teach a whole bunch of 5th graders from schools near the area of Ponca State Park.
We’ll be telling them about why mountain biking is a great thing and how to get started. It’s sure to be a great time!

September is actually one of the best times of year to dial in your bike fit before the off-season. A lot of riders don't realize how much an improper fit affects comfort and performance until they fix it. 🚴‍♀️

Common signs you might need a fit check: knee pain after longer rides, hand or wrist numbness, lower back soreness, or feeling like you're always fighting the bike on climbs.

September riding hits different. 🚴‍♂️

The summer crowds have thinned out, the air has that first hint of cool, and the roads feel like they belong to you again. If you've been waiting all summer for the perfect conditions, this is your month. Get out there while the riding is still this good. 🙌

Coming up next weekend (9/19 & 9/20) is the Missouri River Outdoor Expo, https://outdoornebraska.gov/about/press-events/missouri-river-expo/, at Ponca State Park. Thousands and Thousands of people flock to this event to see and participate with a ton of different vendors and activities offered. It's a great time with a ton of things to do and see (dog jumping, shooting exhibits, animal petting areas and pony rides, food, etc, etc, etc)
This event sparked my interest in promoting mountain biking to new people and ultimately led to me becoming a coach and the mountain bike team we have, the Maskenthine Composite Angry Owls.
If you have never been to the event, come on out and see what it is. If you would like to participate with the event and get more people on mountain bikes, check out the link below. Trails Have Our Respect, THOR, will have a tents set up and be handing bikes and helmets our to kids primarily but adults as well so they can try out a couple of short mountain bike demo trails and see what makes our sport so fun and addicting.

Bike rack setup matters more than most people realize. 😅

A few things to check before every trip: make sure the rack is rated for the weight of your bikes, that each bike is secured at the frame and not just by a wheel, and that nothing is spinning or shifting at highway speeds.

A quick tug test before you pull out of the driveway can save a lot of heartbreak down the road. Come in and ask us about rack options if you're still figuring out your setup. 🙌
