One of the biggest mistakes athletes make when working on acceleration is staying too upright and stepping instead of driving.

This loaded step-through variation helps fix that.

By using the rack, we can keep the torso forward, maintain positive shin angles, and reinforce true acceleration mechanics.

Now the athlete is learning to strike the ground, push back, and create horizontal force — not just move their legs.

This is a simple drill, but when done with intent, it builds the foundation for real speed.

Alternating neutral-grip DB press with a 3-second tempo—building strength, control, and shoulder stability.

Tempo changes everything. Slowing the press down forces the athlete to own every position instead of relying on momentum.

Give these a try🤝

8 WEEKS. MEASURABLE RESULTS. 📈

This summer, we had the opportunity to work with the East Lyme High School Football team through an 8-Week Summer Speed & Agility Program.

We tested. We trained with intent. Then we tested again.

Over those 8 weeks, the team improved across every major performance metric we tested. Here was the average improvement we saw in each performance metric across the board for the team:

10-Yard Sprint: 1.70 → 1.61 sec
0.09 sec faster

5-10-5 Shuttle: 5.01 → 4.79 sec
0.22 sec faster

Broad Jump: 6’9” → 7’1”
+4 inches

Right-Leg Broad Jump: 5’10” → 6’3”
+5 inches

Left-Leg Broad Jump: 5’10” → 6’1”
+3 inches

Vertical Jump: 18.8” → 21.0”
+2.2 inches

The numbers are great, but they represent something bigger — 8 weeks of showing up, competing, being coached, and training with purpose.

Training should produce measurable results.

Proud of the consistency and effort these guys put in every session this summer. Now it’s time to see it translate to the field.⚡️

Your biggest competition will always be the person standing in the mirror. Focus on outdoing your past self, pushing beyond yesterday’s limits, and chasing your own potential. The only competition that truly matters is the one within.

You vs you.
