The Amica Newport Marathon takes place annually on the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend, and features all of the beauty and grandeur the City By The Sea has to offer. The course is simply astounding: winding ocean-side roads, miles of waterfront views, and sweeping vistas of the grand mansions along Bellevue Avenue. The race will begin at 7:30 AM in Newport, Rhode Island and travel through the city, as well as neighboring communities. The race will utilize a USTAF-certified course and can be used as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon and all other major marathon events.

Volunteer With Us!

The 2026 Amica Newport Marathon and Half Marathon is just under three weeks away, and we're expecting our largest field in the event's 17-year history!

The race would not be possible without the invaluable support of our hundreds of volunteers and charity groups. To provide our runners with the best possible experience, we are actively seeking a few more volunteers, groups, and volunteer leaders.

Please contact our volunteer director, Claire Akin, if you are interested in volunteering for any part of the event weekend 10/9-10/11.

A greener race day starts before you reach the starting line. 🚲🚶🚗

Help reduce traffic, parking pressure, and emissions by choosing a more sustainable way to get to the Amica Newport Marathon:

🚗 Carpool and share the ride
🚶 Walk from designated parking, just 0.8 miles from the start
🚲 Bike directly to Easton’s Beach and use the on-site bike racks

We’re going the extra mile for a greener race day. 🌊🌱

With a record 5,250+ participants expected at the 2026 Amica Newport Marathon, we’re working alongside 11th Hour Racing to reduce waste, make more sustainable choices and protect the coastal community that makes this race so special.

From medals made with 100% certified recycled materials to compostable cups, canned water and expanded waste-sorting stations, this will be our greenest race yet.

Runners and spectators, you’re an important part of the effort. Stay tuned for simple ways you can help us leave Newport better than we found it.

✨Every Mile Makes a Difference ✨

The Amica Newport Marathon is a race you can be proud to run — since 2015, it has raised over $685,000 for local and regional charities through race proceeds and the generous support of our title sponsor, Amica Insurance.

This year, we’re going a step further. Through the Amica RunRaising initiative, the Amica Companies Foundation will donate $5 for every runner who crosses the finish line, up to $25,000 combined, to our four nonprofit partners: The Aquidneck Land Trust, The Boys and Girls Club of Newport County, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, and The Newport County YMCA.

That means each nonprofit could receive up to an additional $6,250 this year, thanks to Amica’s support!
