Calling all actors! SOPA is proud to present: the Actor's Studio!

This audition-based class is an advanced-level program for young performers ready to deepen their craft. Through script work, scene study, character development, and audition technique, students will sharpen their performance skills while learning how to carry themselves as young professionals. The focus is on stage acting, with occasional exploration of on-camera technique.

Requirements for joining this advanced level class are:
• Strong reading comprehension
• Ability to memorize and prepare outside of class
• Positive attitude and teamwork skills
• If student misses 3 or more classes, final performance participation is at teacher’s discretion

The Actor's Studio | ages 9-14 | Tuesdays at 6:30pm
admission by audition only

Auditions for The Actor's Studio will be on July 22nd at our studio
Two timeslots available: 4:00pm & 5:00pm
Performers will need to prepare to slate, perform a 30-60 second comedic or dramatic monologue, and should be prepared to do a cold reading of a scene.

SOPA is introducing brand new ballet curriculum this season: the Royal Academy of Dance ballet curriculum!

Our ballet instructors are hard at work training in this new curriculum that will be taught in our youngest classes all the way through to our upper level ballet classes.

RAD is the largest ballet organization in the world, with over 13,000 members in over 85 countries. It offers a steady and safe progression of exercises and dances in a structured and age appropriate syllabi danced to a wonderful and broad selection of music. The levels of syllabi take them from two years right through to adult classes.

Dancing for the positive benefits of fun and happiness, physical health, mental well-being, the joy of learning the correct technique and to ‘move beautifully to beautiful music’ is at the heart of our and many good RAD based dance programs.

We cannot wait to bring this amazing program to SOPA's ballet students starting this fall!

Disney’s Aladdin JR. is based on the 1992 Academy Award®-winning film and the 2014 hit Broadway show about the “diamond in the rough” street rat who learns that his true worth lies deep within.

Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar, and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of the princess, Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character. With beloved characters, new songs, and more thrills, this new adaptation of the story you know and love will open up “a whole new world” to our audiences!

Grab your wings and fly into SOPA this summer for the most extraordinary fairy camp!

With sparkly music, fairy-themed activities, and lots of encouragement, campers will discover the magic of movement, friendship, and believing in themselves. Dancers will enjoy dressing up from some of our favorite fairy inspired stories: Peter Pan & Tinkerbell, Sleeping Beauty, & Cinderella. Snacks will be provided but campers will need to bring a labeled water bottle and a lunch. All are invited to see the fairies flutter and sparkle on the last day of camp for a short performance. Perfect for tiny dancers who love fairies, dreams, and a sprinkle of pixie dust.

Our younger students are ready to WORK this summer! SO many of your younger dancers have requested a Summer Conditioning Class and we heard you!

So join our Summer Conditioning Class for ages 7-10! Our dancers will strengthen muscles, skills, and technique and will return to our fall classes stronger than they left in the spring.
