Coweta County Chicks In Chaps- 4-H Mounted Drill Team

Congratulations Olivia Miklosovic! Olivia has had an amazing year- but a year of challenges. Her main guy struggled with a bucking issue, and Olivia has shown us all what a truly sticky seat looks like! So proud of her family dedication to getting him healthy and happy again, and wow it shows in those speed events! But she doesn’t JUST go fast! Olivia also has worked with a new green Thoroughbred this year and had an excellent showing at State! In ADDITION, she showed her mom’s sweet boy successfully in Ranch classes! This girl is an all-around horsewoman and it shows! Congratulations Livy to you and all your mounts! Dawn Thompson Miklosovic

So much to celebrate this year- but we want to take a few minutes to recognize some of our riders in their overall performance accomplishments! So proud of our ladies for showing up and showing out (in a good way 😊) at Georgia 4H State Show! I think every rider who competed placed top 10! But…one at a time…and today we give a huge shout out to our Addelyn! This wild child’s smile and spirit kept her coach going with joy in my heart all season! SEMDTA Advanced Division Champs! Congratulations Chicks in Chaps Varsity! For sure the season had its challenges but this team just wouldn’t quit! Thank you to the riders who literally rode through the trials and to those who rose to the occasion to get us to another championship title! Those buckles have been hard earned and much deserved! The competition was stiff but these ladies along with their amazing equine athletes rode their hearts out! Well done Chicks in Chaps Varsity!

SEMDTA Novice Division Champs! Congratulations Chicks in Chaps Junior Varsity!!!! In August 2025, the Coweta Chicks In Chaps had four AMAZING new riders join and become our Junior Varsity team. Not a one had ever ridden drill before (and nor had their horses!). Regardless, by September they competed for the first time and never stopped improving! Every practice they came with the intention of getting better- and that’s EXACTLY what they did. We could not be more proud of these girls! Their families kept both teams functioning and made the season possible for us all! But to the riders- thank you girls for reminding us all just how awesome this sport can be!

The Coweta Chicks wrapped up the 2025-2026 show season in champion style! BOTH our Junior Varsity and Varsity teams brought home the title and buckle for their divisions! So grateful to our drill family! Each team deserves their own post, so we will do that too but…the team as a WHOLE made the season a success. Thanks to our parents and grandparents for their ever present support and a special thanks to our sponsors who make this all possible! The amount of work that goes into these competitions requires so much from so many- and as a coach, I am so deeply grateful. In addition to getting kids and horses to practice in cold, heat, rain and sometimes ice- this team has done so much for everyone involved! From dragging our arena for practices, turning off arena lights after everyone has time to load up, loaning horses, transporting horses for team mates, snacks and drinks, playing DJ, constantly recording so that we can pick apart practices, being our videographer, photographer, butt glitterers, horse holders, girth checkers, gate keepers, competition chefs….the list is genuinely too long to list! Especially the grace you show your intense and sometimes perfectionist coaches…we are so grateful!
