Avery Parks and Recreation Our mission is to develop and sustain programs that provide positive social and physical wellbeing.

Recreation sponsored Youth Sports Fees:

Basketball - K thru 8th grades boys and girls, high school boys and - $50

Football - U-8 NFL Flag - $35; U-10 Tackle - $55; U-13 Tackle $55

Cheersport - K thru 6th grades - $65

Tommy Burleson Basketball Camp, 3rd week of July, 2nd thru 8th grades boys and girls - $50

Avery Vikings Baseball Camp, 1st full week of August, K - 8th grades, - $45

Yearly physicals are required for all sports participants third grade and beyond.

Weekend football update for September 18 and 19. Our Avery Vikings are hosting homecoming tonight at MacDonald stadium against Madison. Gametime 7:30.

Tomorrow, our Jr Vikings will be playing at Mitchell High School, with Flag teams beginning play around 9:30 a.m. Tackle games will begin at 11:30 against McDowell.

***Youth Night at Avery High will be October 23.

Big football weekend starts tonight in Marion as our Avery High Vikings face off against the McDowell Titans. 7:00 kickoff!

Tomorrow morning our Jr Vikings will be in Burnsville and will begin play around 9 with the Flag team playing Yancey. The Jr Vikings tackle teams will kick off at 11:30 against Mitchell. All entries are $5.

We hope you will travel to support all our Avery Viking footballers this weekend. 🇺🇸

The final day of pool operations at the Dive In will be this Sunday afternoon, September 6, from 1:30 until 5:30.

Due to staffing circumstances beyond the department’s control, we will not be open this Saturday and Labor Day Monday. We have enjoyed a safe and great season at the Dive In, and appreciate your patronage. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday for one last afternoon of fun this season!

We hope you have a great Labor Day weekend. Please share with your friends!

Thanks to all the parents and family members who supported our young Vikings today at this season’s youth jamboree in Marion. It was a hot day, but volunteer coaches and parents had cool drinks, water and food available throughout the day for the players. Our teams looked good and set themselves on a positive track for a great season! Thank you all again, and see you two weeks from today at Mtn Heritage High in Burnsville.
