RIP French, the founding father of RACESAVER:

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of French Grimes, the founder of RaceSaver®, on September 13, 2026.

French’s vision helped create an affordable, competitive form of sprint car racing that gave working families and grassroots racers a place in the sport. What began as an effort to keep racing accessible grew into a nationwide racing community and a lasting legacy.

French was far more than the founder of RaceSaver® — he was a racer, innovator, rule-maker, mentor, and tireless advocate for fair and affordable competition. His impact can be seen at tracks and in race cars across the country.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to French’s family, friends, fellow racers, officials, and everyone whose life was touched by him.

Thank you, French, for the vision, dedication, and passion you gave to racing.

Rest in peace. 🏁🙏
