Outdoor Sculpture at Maudslay started yesterday running until Oct 16th. I did not tweak my pictures, they are just a tease, the best way to see the exhibition is in person. You also might have noticed the carriage house can be seen long before you walk through it. The park workers have been clearing the area around it and the old house foundation. There's still color in the garden!

An early walk in Maudslay can reveal more than just beautiful scenery.

The Japanese Anemone are starting to flower, the Dahlias are still in full bloom, there's still color in the garden and the acorns are falling and they are huge. I had a special treat of coming up on the main drive gates being open for Pesky Pete's Poison Ivy Removal. Can you imagine coming to the gate in a horse drawn carriage or vintage (to us) car?

Girl Scouts Love State Parks!
Free parking this weekend at all Mass State Parks. Also the Girl Scouts will be bringing their STEM van Sunday from 2-4.

September 1st is meteorological Autumn & we’ve officially entered the ber months, September; October; November; December.

The September program calendar is jam packed with activities to do at the park & the first one starts with the Evening Stroll, tomorrow night (Sept. 2nd).

Sue McGrath of “Newburyport Birders” is my guest & she’ll be sharing her birding expertise during the stroll, I hope you can join us. Bring binoculars if you have them, otherwise I have some extras. This free program is for adults only & begins at 6:00 pm, meet at park headquarters.

Two special programs are scheduled later in the month starting with the Northshore Amateur Astronomy Club then Russ Cohen, well known author of “Wild Plants I Have Known…and Eaten!

The NSAA Club will provide a “Planet & Stargazing” program on Tuesday Sept. 15th from 7:30 to 9:00 pm, cloudy/rainy conditions cancel & the rain date is the following day. For ages 5 & up, meet in the field across from the parking lot.

Russ Cohen will lead a walk to find “Wild Edibles: Discovering the Plants Around Us” on Tuesday Sept. 22nd from 4:00 to 6:00 pm & the rain date is the next day, meet at park headquarters.

The Outdoor Sculptures Exhibit show runs from Sunday Sept. 20th to Friday Oct. 16th. The theme is “EDGE” & viewing is daily from sunrise to sunset.
