Walk-Away Chicken…

Do I have your attention yet!? 😃

You don’t have to babysit the chicken while it’s cooking… and it comes out juicy and succulent!

🧑‍🍳Walk-Away Chicken
(Serves 2)

- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 oz each)
- 1 tsp olive oil or butter
- Salt and pepper to taste

Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness, about ½- to ¾-inch thick.
Season both sides with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil or butter and swirl to coat.

Lower heat to medium and add chicken. Cook undisturbed for 1 minute. Flip, reduce heat to low, and cover with a tight-fitting lid. Set a timer for 10 minutes. Do not lift the lid!

After 10 minutes, turn off the heat. Leave covered for another 10 minutes. Check that the internal temperature has reached 165°F. Rest 2 to 3 minutes, then slice.

Flavor tip: Finish with lemon juice, fresh herbs, or your favorite sauce after cooking.

Hello, my friends over 40!

If you've ever gone down a rabbit hole trying to figure out the "best" way to lose weight as you age... you are not alone.

One expert says "cut carbs"... another says "carbs are fine, cut fat"...

And then someone ELSE says "it's all about your cortisol".

(Don't even get me started on what's trending on social media this week.)

No wonder so many people over 40 feel paralyzed.

Here's what 22+ years of coaching have taught me:

The basics get the job done.

✅ Eat enough protein
✅ Resistance training
✅ Make sleep a priority
✅ Manage your stress

When in doubt, go back to basics. They will never let you down.

That's exactly what our training at EP is built around: the fundamentals, applied in a way that works for your life and your goals, with a healthy dose of support and accountability.

All of it specifically for people over 40 who want to get their energy back and lose a few pounds.

Curious? DM me "READY" and I'll tell you more.

Twenty-five years ago today, the world changed.

Today we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and to honor the first responders, survivors, and the families who carry that day with them always.

I'll never forget where I was, Geology 110, at OWU. We had class. The professor didn't realize the severity of what was happening. Other students in class were crying because they had family members who worked in the twin towers.

The rest of my 9.11.01 was seated in my dorm room watching the news.

Hard to believe it's been 25 years. 😔

We will never forget.

Most of the calories you burn every day have nothing to do with your workouts.

Researchers call it NEAT: non-exercise activity thermogenesis. It's everything you do outside of structured exercise.

Studies show it can vary by up to 2,000 calories per day between two people of similar size.

That's why two people can follow the same plan and get different results. And why someone who works out hard but is sedentary the rest of the day can still feel stalled in their progress.

The fix: start looking for opportunities to move more throughout your day.

✅ Take the stairs
✅ Add a daily walk
✅ Stand or pace during phone calls
✅ Get up and move every hour
✅ Find an active hobby instead of watching TV

The benefits go way beyond fat loss. More daily movement means better blood sugar, stronger immunity, better mood, better bone density, and one of the strongest predictors of healthy aging.

Nutshell: move more during your workouts AND all day long.

I can’t tell you how many times over the years I’ve heard some version of:

"I really want to focus on myself again… I just need life to calm down first."

I’ve said it too.

But then commitments (work, family, personal) ramp up, routines change, the dog needs to go to the vet…

… and somehow you slide to the bottom of the list again.

But after 22 years of coaching clients over 50 juggling their wellness with life’s demands here’s what I know:

If you’re waiting for things to calm down, you’re going to be waiting a lonnng time.

September becomes October… October becomes the holidays… and before you know it, it’s NEXT YEAR!

The people who stay strong, energized, and consistent are the ones with a plan that lets them reach their body goals without disrupting their entire life, in a way that “sticks” all year long.

If you’re done waiting for life to “settle down,” DM me “STRENGTH”, and we can talk about a tailor-made plan just for you. 🤍
