🏆🚂 2026 HIGH A CHAMPIONS YONKERS RAIL SPLITTERS 🚂🏆

After three games between two of High A’s most accomplished programs, the Yonkers Rail Splitters defeated the defending champion Nassau Yankees, 2–1, in the best-of-three Championship Series to capture the 2026 High A Championship!

Yonkers opened with an 8–2 Game 1 victory, powered by home runs from Jarrett Hyder and Danny Alvarez and six strong innings from Noel Vasquez.

Nassau answered with a 5–3 Game 2 victory, forcing exactly what this matchup deserved:

A WINNER-TAKE-ALL GAME 3. 🔥

With the score tied 2–2 in the fifth, Danny Alvarez delivered the go-ahead RBI single.

Then Jarrett Hyder took it from there.

A complete-game championship performance.

A tremendous salute to the Nassau Yankees. The 2025 champions reached the Championship Series for the third consecutive season, fought back after dropping Game 1 and pushed the series to the final out of a winner-take-all Game 3.

Two heavyweight programs. Three championship games. A fitting finish to an outstanding High A season.

PLAYOFF MVP
⭐️ JARRETT HYDER ⭐️

Hyder contributed throughout the postseason, homered in Game 1 of the Championship Series and then took the baseball with everything on the line in Game 3, delivering seven championship innings, eight strikeouts and zero earned runs.

When Yonkers needed one more win…he finished it.

FROM THE #6 SEED TO THE TOP OF LOW A.

The All-City Astros are your 2026 NYC Metro Baseball League Low A Champions! 🏆

Their road started in the final week of the regular season, when they needed a sweep just to qualify for the postseason.

They got it.

Then the #6 seed went to work:
🔥 8-3 over BQE Gridlock
🔥 7-5 over #2 Hudson Hurricanes
🔥 8-4 over Nassau Yankees

Three games. Three wins. 3-0 through bracket play.

Astoria took Game 1 of the Championship Series, 4-3, putting All-City one loss away from elimination.

Game 2 became a marathon.

Tied 3-3 through nine, the Astros pushed across two runs in the 10th and held on for a 5-3 victory to force Game 3.

Chris Lopez was dominant in relief:

Then, with the championship on the line, All-City left no doubt.

The Astros jumped out early and rolled to a 10-0 Game 3 victory.

Edgar De La Cruz also delivered in a big way, collecting two hits in Game 2 before going 2-for-4 with 3 RBI in the decisive Game 3.

A huge salute to the Astoria Mets, who fought through the losers bracket, won four straight elimination games, and pushed this series to the limit.

For All-City, this championship also makes history.

If you’ve followed High A baseball over the last several years, these two names should look very familiar.

Two of the toughest and most successful programs in this division.

And once again…

they’re playing for the championship.

The Rail Splitters enter Saturday with a 1–0 lead in the best-of-three Championship Series after an impressive 8–2 Game 1 victory over the defending champion Yankees.

That means the stakes are simple:

🔥 Yonkers wins Game 2 → CHAMPIONS.

🔥 Nassau wins Game 2 → WINNER-TAKE-ALL GAME 3, immediately afterward.

And there is a LOT of history sitting behind this matchup.

This Saturday, the Low A Championship Series continues with the Astoria Mets holding a 1–0 series lead over the All-City Astros after taking an exciting Game 1, 4–3.

It’s a best-of-three Championship Series.

For Astoria, the equation is simple:

Win Game 2. Win the championship. 🏆

For All-City:

Win Game 2. Force Game 3. Then go win it all.

And if Game 3 is necessary, we’ll play it immediately afterward.

The top two seeds entered the postseason with first-round byes.

They became the first two teams eliminated.

The Gravesend Reapers are your 2026 NYC Metro Baseball League Expansion Division Champions! 🏆
And after the season they put together, there is no question they earned it.

Gravesend entered the postseason as the #1 overall seed by a wide margin, finishing an outstanding regular season with a 21-5-1 record and earning an opening-round bye.

From there?
They never lost again.
Three postseason games. Three victories.

And when it came time to play for the championship, the Reapers saved their most emphatic statement for last.

🔥 GRAVESEND REAPERS 13, BRONX ROYALS 2 🔥

The Expansion Division Championship was scheduled for nine innings.

The Reapers ended it in seven.

A 13-2 mercy-rule victory put the finishing touches on a dominant season and officially crowned Gravesend as the 2026 Expansion Division Champion.

But their road to the trophy began with a semifinal series against a tough Third Ave Thunder team.

And Game 1 was anything but easy.

Thunder grabbed leads of 3-2 and later 6-4, forcing Gravesend to answer.

And answer they did.

The Reapers exploded in the bottom of the fifth, turning a 6-4 deficit into an 11-6 lead before ultimately taking the opener:

🔥 Reapers 11, Thunder 7.

George Miller battled through five innings and struck out eight to earn the victory, while the Reapers showed patience and pressure throughout the lineup — drawing 10 walks and stealing eight bases.

Then came Game 2.

This time, Gravesend didn’t wait around.
Five runs in the first inning.
Three more in the second.
And Kyle Herguth took care of the rest.

Herguth delivered six outstanding innings, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out nine without issuing a single walk.

🔥 Reapers 8, Thunder 1.

Series over.
2–0 sweep.
Championship berth secured. 🧹
On Championship Day, the Reapers were ready.

🏆⚾️ 2026 REDEMPTION RUMBLE CHAMPIONS — YONKERS RAIL SPLITTERS ⚾️🏆

Another chapter has been written in one of Metro’s favorite young traditions.

On Sunday, August 16, the Yonkers Rail Splitters captured the 2026 Redemption Rumble Championship with a dramatic 5–4 walk-off victory over the Harlem Bodega Cats at Randall’s Island.

And this one came down to the very end.

With the game tied 4–4 in the bottom of the seventh, the Rail Splitters pushed across the winning run to walk it off and bring home the Rumble Championship. 🏆

Martin Sierra was an absolute workhorse on the mound, going the distance with 7 innings, 8 strikeouts and 114 pitches to earn the victory.

At the top of the order, Andrew Sola led the offense with a 3-for-4 performance, scoring a run and driving in another, while Hector Nunez added two hits and an RBI as part of an eight-hit Rail Splitters attack.

But the Redemption Rumble has always been about more than one game.

More than anything, though, we’re proud to see this event becoming part of the fabric and tradition of Metro.

A very special thank you to the Harlem Bodega Cats, their managers and their players.

The Bocats showed up, competed their tails off and helped give us a championship game worthy of the occasion. More importantly, their continued support of the Redemption Rumble and commitment to keeping this tradition going forward means a great deal to us.

Traditions only become traditions because people continue to show up for them, and the Bocats have done exactly that. ❤️

And to the Yonkers Rail Splitters — thank you for the consistent turnout, the buy-in and for embracing what this event is supposed to represent. You continued showing up for one another throughout the Rumble, and on Sunday, you finished the job together.

HIGH A: FINAL WEEK OF THE REGULAR SEASON

👑 The race for the top two seeds is nearly settled. The Hester St. Dragons have locked up the No. 1 seed, while the L.E.S. Knights have secured the second seed heading into the postseason.

⚔️ The battle for the No. 3 seed is still on. The Yonkers RailSplitters and Harlem HA’s remain in contention, with each looking to secure the highest possible position entering the playoffs.

🎟️ One playoff position remains. The Nassau Yankees and Bronx Braves are battling for the sixth and final postseason spot (seeding). Nassau closes the regular season against the Dragons, while the Braves face a pivotal doubleheader with the RailSplitters.

📈 The middle of the bracket is still taking shape. Every result this weekend will influence postseason positioning and determine the path each team must navigate once the playoffs begin.

🔥 The regular season champion has been crowned—but the playoff picture is far from complete. One final weekend will finalize the bracket and set the stage for what promises to be an exciting double-elimination tournament.

⚔️ Gridlock vs. Hurricanes and Tigers vs. Yankees headline the weekend and will go a long way toward determining the final top-four order.

🎟️ One playoff berth remains. The RailSplitters and Astros meet in a winner-take-most doubleheader. Yonkers needs only a split to clinch the sixth and final playoff spot, while the Astros must sweep to keep their season alive.

⚾ The Astoria Mets look to lock down the No. 5 seed as they wrap up the regular season against the Dragons.
