Thank you to everyone who said PRESENTE ayer as we honored our ancestors through community, sharing and belonging. A true family event for all ages marked this first anniversary with music, art, community, and sancocho. You keep la bomba growing in Loisaida.
Over the past year, La Bomba Crece en Loisaida has created an ongoing space for cultural exchange, intergenerational learning, and the continuation of Puerto Rican musical and dance traditions in the neighborhood.

The 39th Annual Loisaida Festival, historically celebrated on the Sunday before Memorial Day, will take place on Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, spanning Avenue C / Loisaida Avenue from East 12th Street to East 5th Street. Background

The weather may have tested us, but it did not dampen us. Loisaida showed up — resilient, joyful, rooted, and proud.
Thank you to every person who came out, danced, marched, sang, supported a vendor, checked in on a neighbor, brought their children, honored their elders, celebrated our artists, and helped carry this beloved tradition forward.
We also honor and thank this year’s Viva Loisaida! Awardees — Council Member Chris Marte, Naomi Peña, David Sanders, Chanel Elliott, and Destiny Mata — whose service, creativity, advocacy, and love for community embody the very spirit of Loisaida.
