Authentic Method Pilates

This workshop was full of “aha” moments. We had so much fun learning, connecting and experiencing. We used several apparatus and the mat to find the links in the system. We listened, practiced and taught each other.

Professionals from all over the country came together in an amazing group of unique individuals with the common goal of deepening our Pilates practices.

I am so grateful to all of those who made this such a beautiful experience.

Now we are preparing for Inelia Garcia, herself, for the Contrology Program Intermediate Module in February 2027. Registrations are open!

The Contrology program is for classically certified teachers with teaching experience who would like to experience the Authentic Method Inelia Garcia.

When I first started teaching, 20 years ago, I remember teaching clients and thinking to myself that there were some things missing - and I wasn’t as effective as I would like to be as a teacher.

I began studying a lot more anatomy and taking workshops everywhere I could in Pilates and somatics.

When I found Inelia Garcia and her amazing teacher training program, all of my questions were answered, and so many things became clear that were cloudy in my mind. I dove into Authentic Pilates Inelia Garcia and never looked back.

In my studio, I try to pass on the legacy that Inelia has passed to me from Joseph Pilates to Romana and then to Inelia.

Simple things sometimes are much more difficult than complex things. And it is a simplification with deep understanding (of the system that Joseph Pilates created) that has brought me to the level that I am able to teach at this point.

We have teacher workouts beginning at the end of September on Thursdays. And we have mini workshops also coming up in the fall.

Inelia Garcia will be at the studio in February presenting the intermediate module of the Contrology Program. We are taking applications for this program. It is for certified teachers, who understand the classical order and wish to deepen their practice and their teaching.

For contemporary teachers, we have training to introduce you to the classical system that will enable you to take our other programs at our studio. We support contemporary teachers who would like to bridge to the Authentic Method of Pilates.

This is what it looks like when a room of instructors are practicing teaching with precision and focus.

Kiko demonstrated how to use the system to build the exercises and then we put it into practice. This is the legacy of Joe Pilates passed to Romana and brought to us by ineliagarcia Teacher of Teachers

Teaching Authentic Pilates is and art and a science. It is infinite learning because we are sculpting the human body. The body has infinite possibilities at any moment.

It was soooo fun to work with these great teachers. Can’t wait to see them again!!

Of course everyone can do this but we were having fun with the girls group at the amazing workshop with this past weekend.

In this workshop Kiko inspired us starting with the basic exercises and linked the more advanced exercise to the basic, and then showed how to build this power using the system.

ineliagarcia will be with us in February to continue this work and give us 5 days of magic in the Contrology program.

Authentic Pilates is for every gender/non-gender and ability. Every age and size.

This workshop covered so many nuances of the Authentic Pilates system. In only two days, Kiko covered a million big and small movements and topics.

When Inelia Garcia comes to NYC in February, she will spend 5 days training teachers in the Contrology program. This is an advanced program for certified teachers.

This weekend presented an immersive two-day workshop about transitioning from more basic to more complex exercises.

We had a group of instructors from around the US and the world. We practiced, taught, took notes and deepened our understanding of this genius method.

The warmth and passion that Kiko brought to the studio lifted us all up and gave us new inspiration as teachers and practitioners.
