Porch repair, is this acceptable?

Needed some new pillars and banisters on our front porch. Pillars we're rotting at the bottom, and a couple banisters were crappy plastic PVC, so hired them to replaced 2 pillars and add some wooden banisters so everything is cohesive.

We paid good money for this, and we are feeling like the work is sloppy/rushed. We've reached out to them and they will be returning, but I just wanted to see what more experienced people thought.

Appreciate any insight from those with more expertise!

To the delivery driver who saw a giant sign saying “PLEASE DELIVER TO UNIT 202” and still left the whole stack at Unit 201… I honestly don’t know what else I could’ve done. 😂

The note is taped right to the door, the unit numbers are clearly marked, and there’s even an arrow pointing next door. This wasn’t exactly a difficult scavenger hunt.

Same building, different door. Now I’m just hoping everything stays there long enough for the packages to make it to the right unit.

That sign wasn’t decoration. It was basically the delivery instructions in giant letters. 😅

When Did Dining Out Become a Guilt Trip? 😬
A sign explaining how much servers rely on tips is one thing. But when the message says “TIP 20% OR WE’LL ADD IT,” it raises an obvious question:
If a tip is expected—or even mandatory—is it really a tip anymore?
Servers deserve fair and reliable pay. Customers deserve clear pricing and the freedom to decide how they want to show appreciation.
Maybe the real issue isn’t tipping itself, but the growing pressure surrounding it.
Has tipping culture gone too far, or is this simply the new reality of dining out? 👀

To the person who thought it was hilarious to slap a “YOU PARK LIKE AN ID10T” sticker on my car while I was inside eating… seriously, grow up.
I came back outside and found one of those giant childish stickers with the middle finger graphic stuck right on my bumper like we’re all still in high school.
And before people jump in with the whole “it’s just a joke” excuse… no.
You do NOT get to walk up to somebody else’s car and start sticking things on it because you didn’t like how they parked.
That’s not funny.
That’s not clever.
That’s just weird behavior.
I honestly don’t care if you thought my parking was crooked, too close, or terrible. Normal adults keep it moving and go about their day.
They don’t run around the parking lot acting like self-appointed parking enforcement decorating strangers’ vehicles.
And yes, I already went back inside and asked about security footage because I absolutely want to know who thought this was such a genius idea.
People seriously need to mature.

Here’s your reason to finally get the minivan. 👏

LOOK AT ALL THAT SPACE! 😂

We have the extra captain’s seat folded down into the floor, which gives us so much extra room when we need it.

I can change diapers.
The kids can hang out if we’re sitting somewhere.
There’s room for them to put on their winter coats.
We can get everyone ready for their sports. ⚾️

And the best part? If we have an extra passenger, we can pop that seat right back up. Then fold it back down when we need the space again.

I know minivans aren’t everyone’s dream car… but as a mom of three, I’m telling you:

BUY THE MINIVAN. 😂

The space alone is worth it.

Wrapped up this concrete walkway project for $6,200.

The goal here was more than just putting in a new sidewalk. We built in the proper slope to move water away from the house, added a channel drain, and ran the runoff into an underground drainage line.

The walkway got a clean finish with expansion joints, gravel borders, and plenty of attention to the drainage details around the foundation. The finished look is pretty clean, but the part you won’t really notice is what keeps the water moving where it should.

Definitely one of those jobs where the prep and drainage work matter just as much as the concrete itself.

While staying at an Airbnb for a wedding, we explored the basement and encountered an intriguing structure. A concrete ramp is built into the floor, and the area is characterized by a low ceiling, exposed pipes, dim lighting, and an unfinished, industrial atmosphere. The purpose of this feature remains a mystery, leading to speculative discussions among our group. Some of the theories posited are more unsettling than others. We are likely overlooking a straightforward explanation, but the ambiguity surrounding this feature has sparked our curiosity. Can anyone provide insight into the potential use of this setup?

I am absolutely furious right now.
I hired a lawn service to mow my yard and these people showed up WAYYYY too early in the morning with zero warning and woke up the entire house.
Then this old man proceeds to take his shirt off and starts riding around shirtless on the mower like he’s at a damn pool party, belly hanging out for the whole neighborhood to see.
This is a family neighborhood! I have children and neighbors who don’t need to see some random sweaty old man half-naked on a lawnmower at the crack of dawn.
It’s unprofessional, disrespectful, and downright disgusting. I pay good money for a professional service, not this kind of trashy behavior.
No phone call, no heads-up, just showed up early, woke us up, and turned my front yard into a shirtless spectacle.
I will be calling the company first thing tomorrow demanding a full refund and filing a complaint. This level of unprofessionalism is completely unacceptable.
Some people really have zero shame or common courtesy.

To the parents of the kids covering our neighborhood street in chalk, I wanted to share a thought.

I’m absolutely not against children playing outside. Honestly, I love seeing kids away from their screens, being creative, and enjoying time outdoors. But lately, the chalk drawings have grown from a little sidewalk art into covering large sections of our shared neighborhood street.

I know sidewalk chalk eventually washes away, and the kids are simply having fun. Still, this is a space the entire neighborhood uses, and many residents take pride in keeping it clean and well-maintained.

I’m not blaming the children. I just think parents can help teach kids that shared community spaces deserve respect too—and when the artwork gets excessive, helping clean it up seems fair.

So what do you think? Am I making too much of it, or should parents take responsibility for cleaning up large chalk drawings in shared neighborhood areas?

Advanced L**e Tech here, Apparently my shop foreman is so threatened by my experience that he had to send me a picture of a wheel I did a tire rotation on and accuse me of putting the lug nuts on “BACKWARDS.” Backwards?? Lug nuts only go on ONE WAY… they either thread onto the stud or they don’t. 😂 I’ve been doing this long enough to know how a lug nut works. Maybe instead of zooming in on my work looking for something to complain about, he should realize I’m the one CARRYING this service department. Half these cars wouldn’t get out the door without me. Without professional l**e techs like myself keeping this place moving, he probably wouldn’t even have a job to foreman over.
