With the striking of Muay Thai and San Da and the wrestling of Chinese Shuai Jiao, NY Best Kickboxing always had a good base for self-defense training. But in the modern world we have added ground work from arts like Judo, jiujitsu and Sambo. So, in one very important way Vale Tudo influenced us to offer a more complete martial arts education.
Everyone welcome, we offer a complete martial arts education

San Da, also called Sanda or Chinese kickboxing, comes from Chinese martial arts traditions. It includes the punches, kicks, footwork, and defensive movement many people associate with kickboxing, but it also places greater emphasis on takedowns, sweeps, catches, and off-balancing an opponent.
That added range changes the feel of training. In San Da, distance is not only about landing a punch or kick. It is also about recognizing when someone is close enough to clinch, disrupt your posture, or take you down. Students learn to stay composed when the range changes quickly.
Traditional San Da competition has its own rules and scoring systems, which can vary by organization. In most beginner-friendly classes, however, the point is not to turn every student into a competitor. The point is to build complete movement, sound technique, body awareness, and respect for the responsibility that comes with martial arts training.
