Join Cara Reeser for a 2-hour guided Mat practice designed to deepen your cuing, ex*****on, and understanding of Pilates exercises that require sequential rolling of the spine. Together, we’ll explore how articulation of the pelvis on the femurs and control of the head and cervical spine contribute to smooth, supported rolling. We’ll also take time to problem-solve common challenges that arise in rolling exercises, with attention to individual structural variations. Exercises will include; Roll Up, Roll Over, Open Leg Rocker, Teaser, Crab, and more. This session is an opportunity to refine your skills, expand your teaching toolkit, and experience the joy of rolling with clarity and control.

Movement Science Made Simple
Smart continuing education for Pilates professionals As teachers, our tools are demonstration, touch, and language.
To be effective teachers our demonstration must be fully embodied, our touch supportive, and our language direct or poetic as needed. Movement Science Made Simple joins current concepts in anatomy, kinesiology, and motor learning with time-tested movement training strategies, giving workshop participants new skills to work with diverse client populations.
Coming up! Your Song Is Your Strength, in which we get to the bottom of Pilates ideas of "core"! Join in person or watch the recording!
Join us November 8-9 for Your Song Is Your Strength, in which we sort out the mysteries of breathing in Pilates, the use of the transverse abdominis, and "the scoop," with some side trips to the pelvic floorcand diastasis recti.
One current model of the body’s “core” includes the abdominal and low back muscles, the thoracic diaphragm, and the pelvic floor. Because these muscles are also intimately involved in breathing, breath control and core control are inseparable. Understanding the implications of this model makes it easier to correctly and safely coach both Pilates exercises and functional movement.
